I would absolutely KILL for PDA software for the DS.  That could be a killer app for it, especially if it had online features, e-mail client, etc.  There are few PDAs out there with 15-hour battery life, and none with dual screens.

If Nintendo released PDA software for the DS, would you use it?

15-hour battery life
Meh?  Where do you get 15 hours from?

Is that the figure if you turn off the back-light?  If so, I don't think that's a very fair comparison.  The DS is practically un-usable without the back-light.

try re-reading that sentence again.

he wasn't talking about the DS.

I just re-read it.  Then I re-read it a third time just to be sure.  It just seems like he was comparing a PDA to a DS w/ PDA software.  And the way the sentence was written, it was implying that the DS has a 15-hour battery life and two screens.

I know it has two screens (duh) but I'm not so sure about the 15-hour battery life.

Imagine PDA software in an Online Capable DS. What possibilities could the bring?

1. Online Picto-Chat, with more userability and the ability to send files from one DS to another (assuming it has a flash-drive). Finally it can become useful.

2. Translator, Calendar, Calculator.......all the apps you need for daily organized life....here. Imagine what those modgods could do with a PDA functioning DS....incredible possibilities

3. Web Browser. Somehow it becomes easy to visit even the most obnoxious sites (as in site layout), and let's not forget Email.

4. With the PDA functions could come Multi-media playback and home-brewed games (though I doubt video would look good...or even OK).

5. It can finally have the "Highlander" sense incorperated. It could have adjustable "ring" tones and other various alarms.

6. Play Online and make Online friends. Each DS's could have their own identity that a Nintendo server could keep track of. Then when playing Online, you face a tough opponent...so tough infact, that you want to face them again. You can use a special function IN-GAME that sends the name to the Picto-Chat buddy-list nfo file, and updates it with the new name (can only do this with PDA cartridge inserted). So, at some point in time, you open up Picto-Chat and if online, you ask for a rematch.....Brilliant!

7. Skype or other net2phone or net2net program. *Drools*

8. The ability to interact with a computer on a wireless network or even a computer hooked up to the net.Could be used for file swapping, or Picto-chat related service capatibility to allow chatting to friends that use a computer, with your DS.

Ummm....can't think of much more

KEEP THE LIST GOING! I want to see some cool yet CRAZY ideas.

9. Online 'refrigerator' where DS owners can post their Picto-Chat doodles.

So it's been over a year and a half.  Where's my PDA software?

Um, they've already announced a web browser for the DS. Have you been living under a rock since February 14, 2005 at 3:47 PM or something?
