mario pinball land for gamecube
« on: January 11, 2005, 08:24:18 AM »
hi, this is the first game i ever played on nintendo. I just got one at christmas. I am almost 40 and i love it! The thing is, my mom was visiting and she started playing it. so i decided to get her a gamecube for her birthday. I wanted to know how i can find out if they will make a mario pinball land on the gamecube as opposed to only on the sp advance. i dont want to have to buy the player and then buy the sp advace game in order for her to play. i dont know if the release the advance game first and then later release the gamecube or what. i sure could use some help as i know nothing about these games and stuff. michelle (elliemae4)

Such a game has not been announced, and though the possibility is rare it can't be totally excluded...

I dont think home consoles will ever have a pinball game. The GC is way too powerful, and i dont see anything they could add to make it push the limits of the system. even if the GC gets a pinball game, nintendo isnt that stupid. it would be third party and not carry the mario name. there are much better GC games anyway. pinball is essentially no more a semi-entertaining type of game that works best on handheld (that way they're more likely to be around whenever you get bored, at home, the office, etc.) Buying something for your mom is much diff than for others. i dont know about you, but my mom is a bit more peace-loving than i am, and might not enjoy shooter games like metroid prime (that may be a bad example, as she would love the downloadable chozo lore). I recommend games like animal crossing and perhaps pokemon (it puts a bit of a peaceful, loving competition mood around the fighting, and colloseum especially is about 'purifying' evil 'shadow' pokemon. Zelda would be a good choice, despite the hackin & slashin, it has an awesome, 'mystical' storyline. my aunt wants me to take out the details of windwaker into a short story so that she can read it without playing the game.

also, i would recommend getting her a gameboy rather than GameCube, as it harbors more puzzle/adventure/not-so-detailed-blood&gore-graphics that most grown women i know prefer over the typical GC games.
XBOX2 and PS3 are easy: just bigger, stronger machines. Nintendo, however, is incredibly innovative... you never know what they'll roll out next.

home consols are too good for pinball. mario pinball is the kind of thing you'd expect to be a mini-game on a larger mario 64/sunshine type game.

What was that Pinball RTS game that was shown last E3?  Odema?  Something like that.  Was that ever released in Japan?  Any chance it'll make its way to the US?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Zelda as a short story would never really work, I'm afraid.  The magic's in the game.
