Next batch??

Pretty straightforward...when the hell are we going to see some new DS games?  I mean we've heard of a bunch, but I don't think that any of 'em have an official release date...

I think Sonic DS has a tentative March release date.

I personally have a feeling that the lack of solid release dates has to do with this demasked/anti psp annoucment that is going to happen.

Yeah the DS Drought Sucks... Hopefully Nintendo is putting Prime Hunters and Kart DS on the Fast Track so we can get both titles soon.

The Demasked announcement, would probably be at the same time as a possible price cut. March 05.. Just in time for the PSP.

announcing a full online program with Demasked would most certainly hurt the PSP launch.,

I personally think waiting to announce it is a stupid idea.  Chances are Sony will have a similar plan.  It would make more sense to announce it now in order to maximize the installed user base.  Most people don't buy two similar systems so they shouldn't even give the casuals the opportunity to make the choice.  Thats why I kind of find it hard to believe that this demasked announcment is what we all think/hope it to be.

Exactly.  You want the news to spread.  Do it a month or two before the PSP launch.

When are Peach DS and Kirby Magic Paintbrush supposed to come out?

Maybe we will get lucky and the announcement will be that the Nintendo DS is really TWICE the power of the N64 and can display 3D graphics on BOTH screens simultaneously, and Rayman will be one of the first games to take advantage of this.
Developers, we should want gamers 2 fall in love with THEIR gaming experiences, not OUR feature lists. Let's not forget we're gamers too. But don't get stuck in your own dreams. What'd be special about dreams if we're all forced 2 dream the same thing? MODE RED

That's the nature of new game machines.  Developers haven't had enough time to work on their games, then you add that to the traditionally slow game releases in the first part of the year, and you just don't get a lot of games right away.  Nintendo is releasing at least two games (the ones Bill mentioned) during the first quarter next year, which is actually better than they did on the GameCube, but the third parties are lagging.  I can't blame them either: why rush out a mediocre new game release for the first quarter of the year when few people are buying new games anyway?
That's my opinion, not yours.

I'm sorry, but I just don't think one month (January) after the holiday season is a "drought."  [Edit: fine, two months Dec + Jan] Most people will have many games to play that they got as presents.  Then there's The Minish Cap for DS owners as well--it isn't a DS game per-se, but you can play it on the DS.

Maybe I'm just a freak who doesn't like having multiple new games at one time, but I just don't see a problem with Nintendo's release schedule in general.  Yeah, we should have Wario Ware DS sooner, but that's only because we should have had it at launch, not because there's a hole in the line-up.

I honestly feel better now that I took that DS survey nintendo sent me....  Part of my problem was that we didn't have any firm dates, but the survey asked which games we would purchase in the next three months and wario ware, pokemon dash, and metroid were all on the list.

not because there's a hole in the line-up.

one good game per month is fair. Especially when your trying to convince more people to buy the console. The Drought Sucks especially with the juggernaut PSP on March,,,

"I'm sorry, but I just don't think one month (January) after the holiday season is a 'drought.'"

I'll agree with that.  The Gamecube had a drought.  There was six months of nothing.  This isn't nearly as bad.  Still the DS lineup is hurt by the fact that unlike with the Cube, Nintendo has only provided one title for the launch period.  One or two months isn't that big of a deal but it would be better if Nintendo had released more titles before the gap.

With the Revolution they won't get away with one launch title followed by a few months of nothing.  The few months of nothing might be alright but they'll need at least two or three really good titles first.

The only problem I have with the "gap" is that it is the holiday season.  If I were younger, I'd be upset if I had this brand new system and there wern't really any games to tell everyone I wanted for Christmas.

Of course, now I buy my own games, so... 'eh...
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

If you were younger you probably would get the system itself for Christmas.
