Where are the adventure games?
« on: December 01, 2004, 11:01:34 PM »
Sam and Max, Loom, the Monkey Island series, the Indiana Jones games, Day of the Tentacle would all be BAD-ASS with a stylus, on the DS.

Lucasarts is clearly asleep at the wheel. Or else they're too busy pimping crappy Star Wars #3023 to recognise the potential here.
Seriously though, these games would own on DS. I was hoping the DS would spark an adventure revival, why aren't Revolution getting into it with Broken Sword, or whoever owns the Psygnosis properties with Discworld?

Use the top screen for the dialogue and the bottom screen with the stylus for control and the main action. The microphone and the stylus could be utilised for some stunning puzzles. When Tim Schaefer is done with Psychonauts, he should blow our minds with a point and clicker for the 21st century.

This NEEDS to happen. It's nice to see Nintendo taking the lead with Another, it's just a shame to see no-one following.

LucasArts gave up adventure games because they fail at life...Seriously...(Give it time, more adventure games will start popping up eventually)

Well, adventure wasn't too great on the GBA, with the exeption of a few games...I know the DS is 3D and all, but I think we'll see lack of free-roaming M64 types on the DS...developers read these boards, ya know, and all we do is rant about how D-pad control sucks.

I'm hoping Kemco will continue the Shadow Gate series on DS (even though SG64 was a bag of wet crap). Maybe even a remake of Uninvited for lol. But yeah, Lucas are dead. All they'll pump out is a few generic Episode III games for DS.

Just wait for the homebrew movement to port ScummVM to the DS. Then you can play any Lucas Arts adventure game by throwing the proper data files at it.

This was the first genre that came to mind when we learned about the touch screen.  I guess that's not really what Nintendo envisioned, but then they're making one for Japan themselves. Pre-rendered scenes could look very good with the two screens.

Nintendo, please localize Another. Sank you.
