Topic: cube needs repair??

Our gamecube is a little less than a year old, got it for Xmas last year.  Recently it has started shutting down in the middle of a game (all games, not just one).  Today we noticed that the fan has stopped turning.

Has anyone ever seen this happen?  We'll have to take it to the closest shop, an hour drive, for repairs, but were wondering if it's even worth it, or if it would be better (cheaper) to get another unit.  Can't find the original store receipt, so I doubt they'll honor the warranty.

Nintendo's warranty is for 1 year so you can just call nintendo to get it fixed for free if your cube shut off by itself that usually means theres alot of dust in your cube.
