Finnally Nintendo and other publishers are catching up to the Players choice but the yellow players choice on my Sonic Mega Collection is alittle Ehh but hey better than something uglier.  Theres a full players choice list on Nintendo's site under the gamecube then players choice there should be about 50 players choice titles.

Sales and quality do not correlate...This can be easily seen with games like Driv3r...

Or Ico.  Or Rez.  Or Space Channel 5.  Or Beyond Good & Evil.  Or Eternal Darkness.  Near-masterpieces, but total flops at the sales counter.

What is the criteria to become a Player's Choice?

Was it 400,000 copies sold within a market?  Or lower....?  250,000?

They should use a lower number for the European market than the American market. There's almost no interesting PC games here!

Sonic Adventure 2 and Need for Speed Underground are the newest additions to the Australian line-up of Player's Choice games. There's about... seven titles now. ;__;

It doesn't matter how much they've sold, Nintendo can add any game they want to the Players Choice lineup.

Thanks for clearing that up.

It's sad to see Finding Nemo getting more shelf space than say, F-Zero GX or Soul Calibur II.

I miss the N64 days when it had to sell over a million copies to be on there, hence its old name, "Million Seller".  Im also shocked that WrestleMania x8 is on there, what a butt game, nothing compared to No Mercy, or even its sequel WMXIX!

This gen greatest hits/players choice/platinum hits are probably more based on a time out in the market basis (exception to Halo 1 since Microsoft is stingy to put it up on Plat. hits)  Also I find it really funny that the only Xbox Platinum Hits Family hit is Finding nemo BLOL.

They're not marked greatest hits.  They're Players choice.  I know some of those games sold like complete garbage, so what exactly does Players choice mean?  We're cleaning out back stock of shyte games?  But then some of those games sold really well, so who the hell knows...>?

farfel, you're wrong.  Nintendo chooses what is players choice (ironic, no?).  Since when does Nintendo follow suit of Sony or Microsoft?

The whole idea of Player's Choice/Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits is to clear out back stock. When sales start to dip they drop the price and advertise it anew, hopefully boosting sales. That's why it takes forever for games like GTA3, SSBM, or Halo to get their respective price drops since it took so long for their sales to die down.

Exactly- Wind Waker qualified for Player's Choice even before it was released, but it's still selling great so Nintendo keeps it full price.
