Topic: RUMOR: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U Bundle May Be Coming

Just to play devils advocate, and not because I share Ian's opinion, what if a Zelda bundle is just s way of Nintendo saying: hey get ready for another GameCube, we're going to blow our load with franchises, do get ready with this!

Of course, you'd have to ignore the (few) new experiences available, or soon to be available on the system, to believe a Zelda bundle means Nintendo is essentially giving up on the console.

I think at this point, fans and gamers alike would be happy with Nintendo if they just stopped being so secretive with what they're working on. Show us a beta you're working on with some brand new ideas and characters, give gamers hope that things will get better. When I was younger we had screens of Majoras Mask in Nintendo Power and gamers would speculate and wonder.. Now we get nothing but a promise that games are coming. To this day I'm curious what Conker 64 played like before it became Conker's Bad Fur Day, or how much of Dinosaur Planet remains before the Star Fox Adventures overhaul.

Then again, for all the Ians of the world....

 "there can be no true despair without hope." This would be their train of thought, when time after time a new game or idea I'd shown in early stages, only to be canceled or revamped in a Nintendo franchise mold. But I guess that's why Nintendo started showing games only when they were close to completion. Thanks a lot, cry babies.

I don't think Nintendo is making any intentional statement with a Wind Waker bundle, I just don't think the public will infer the correct message if the game most associated with the Wii U this Christmas is a remake of an old game.  Nintendo would probably just be thinking "hey, it's Zelda and people like that".  With the Wii U not selling very well Nintendo is walking on egg shells and should be very careful about how the Wii U is presented to the public.

By Christmas the Wii U actually will have some good exclusives so they should make sure everyone knows that and putting attention on Wind Waker seems counter-intuitive.

Not caring about them bundling Wind Waker HD?  Fine.
 
Actively saying you hate it and think it's stupid?  A little silly.  It's a better value proposition than Nintendoland bundled-in, and they can proactively continue doing things like this to prolong the inevitable price drop that people are awaiting.

Selling a game separately yields greater profit margins. I believe the idea is that people will buy Nintendo hardware for new first party titles like Super Mario 3D World so Nintendo typically doesn't bundle a big first party title when it first comes out.

The problem is, I'm not convinced the Wii U will sell very well at its current price. If Nintendo really are not going to drop the price, then I think that a bundle with Super Mario 3D World will sell a lot more than the system and game will separately. With how poorly it's selling, Nintendo should do everything they can to ensure things pick up. If sales were better then yeah, I'd agree bundles aren't needed, but given the circumstances I think this would be better.

Also, this bundle could still contain Nintendo Land. After all, the ZombiU bundle has it.
