Bink: Wow, what an insightful post. You know what else is nothing compared to Zelda? Just about every other game, but that doesn't stop me from playing it. Besides, GTA currently sells like 6 times better than Zelda, which is something Nintendo REALLY needs.

I used to be one of those ROCKSTARS IS OFR SUXXZORS, but i changed, I tried the game, and the game is okay.  I like how you can do anything you want.  If it came out for Gamecube I probably would buy it, but as of right now I have no money to spend because all of the Nintendo exclusives are eating away at my wallet.

Look who couldn't care less if either GTA games come to gamcube! *raises his hand* I already have GTA3 on the computer and I'm getting Vice City for it when it comes out. It will probably either be a new game or another smugglers run, which was really good.

I still think there could be an announcement of the Max Payne sequel.  I know its take two, but they're a part of Rockstar.   And that Serious Sam game was confirmed months ago, so thats definate.

If thats true, it does make alot of sense. Why not port them after theyve sold a billion copies on one console? They'll then sell millions on xbox and GC, but 2004 - probably means late 2004, and by then , i dont think anyone will be too hyped for 2 and 3 year old games..

who is to say the games couldnt be improved with new features and what not, but I do find it odd that they might port games that are 2-3 yrs old by 2004...

as far as the comment about GTA selling 6 times as much as Zelda- it's only because of the userbase of the PS2, if they release GTA on Gamecube it will at best sell a million or two more then Zelda, which is good but isn't quite 6 times as much

how would Serius Sam be exclusive?  it's already out for xbox, or did u mean an entirely new Serius Sam game?

my bet (wish actually) is for Midnight Club 2 to come to the cube if only for more cube sales... since i bought it last night for ps2Text

GTA is console-exclusive for PS2 until the end of 2004.

On another note, Midnight Club II.

Dirk: Well that's a pretty selfish thing to say- so you care more about your own personal gaming nitpicks than the survival of Nintendo? Face the facts, man- unless the Gamecube gets a really big 3rd party game/series, it's going to continue on it's downward spiral. Admit it. I don't care if you don't like GTA personally- good for you. But you have to realise it would be EXTREMELY helpful to our beloved Cube.

Ninja: Midnight Club II'ss a good thought, but I assume if R* DID make a Cube GTA game, it wouldn't come out until next year, aka 2004 (are you sure the deal's till the end of 2004?).

I'm pretty sure once 2004 ends, the deal ends.  Knowing Sony though, they probably pay for another deal.

GTA delayed until 2005?  Hmm...intriguing, but Sony would probably be a beast and force Rockstar to release it anyway.

Yeah, you're right about the deal. Sony would probably make another deal, but if Rockstar is greedy, they might relese it on all systems for more $$$.

I remeber reading on IGN that the Serious Sam game for the GC was going to be different from other SS games.  I wonder what they could do?  A SS rpg?

guys I just can figure out what sense it makes to port 2 and 3 year old games to systems with (by then atleast) very strong lineups
Seriously, who of you would buy a copy of GTA3 in 2 years time, that game is gonna be extremely outdated by then
the only way I see of making money with those games is to vastly upgrade and change them, I certainly wont buy GTA3 or Vice City in 2004 when I could spend my money on Metroid Prime 2, Zelda GCN 2, Too Human etc

I would *LOVE* a sequel to body harvest.

it would be such an amazing next gen, imagine that game in a fully living, breathing city like GTA, but with aliens coming down, shooting green slime, and eating everyone.

*drools*

Hemmorrhoid: That's nothing compared to what Capcom and Nintendo are doing. Capcom ported over 3 old Resident Evil games, sans updates. They also ported over BoF I and II to the GBA, which are both very old. Nintendo's also ported over a bunch of really old SNES games to the GBA. I think what will really hurt a potr of GTA 3/VC in 2005 would be the release of GTA 4 (or maybe even 5 by then)- who WANTS an old port when they can get the new ones.
