He's just a character. You might have a great time playing his games but he's nothing more than a imitator with a big caboose.

PS: Get a dictionary. Ten bucks says you don't know what a moniker is.

I have to slightly disagree with this. Yes, he is just a character and you play his games, but that doesn't mean he lacks a presence. And he WAS given an unique development of character. First of, he now lives in a brand new world outside the Mario universe (technically, he was already living outside the Mario universe in the Wario Land games, but Diamond City is far more original), has a different story, interacts with brand new characters and has a different purpose. He still possesses the same personality but his existence is different, and I have come to accept it.

Ian pretty much proves my point that there ARE Nintendo fans that feel betrayed by the sudden Wario change.

Eh, you know, I'm kind of annoyed by the seeming death of "classic" Wario in recent years, but let's be honest: it's basically just a costume.  He's still Wario, and I'm willing to bet the classic costume will be available in the game...the Smash Bros. series doesn't take nostalgia lightly.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Yeah but Ian is always feeling betrayed, so I don't think I'd use him as an example.

There will always be things to complain about.
If Warioware didn't exist, and Brawl featured classic Wario I guarantee that some of the same people would be complaining that he's just a slower/fatter/stronger Mario clone.
