Who or what is Brady Bunch?

And I'd still rather play a Mai Hime 2d fighter.

KDR - at first I thought you were joking; then I remembered you're from Europe, not the USA.  The Brady Bunch was a television sitcom in the early 70s that ran for approximately five seasons.

From IMDB's plot summary:
Quote

"The Brady Bunch" is a classic situation comedy that has become a cornerstone of popular culture. Mike Brady, a widowed architect with three boys (ranging in age from 7 to 13) marries Carol Martin, a single young mother with three young girls (ages 6 through 12). The couple and their formerly-separate families become one close-knit, united family. The family shared a four-bedroom house. Other members of the Brady family was Mike's housekeeper, Alice Nelson, who now served as the family's housekeeper; and Tiger, the boys' beloved pooch.  Stories revolved around family unity and sibling rivalry, dating, misunderstandings, family vacations (including those to Grand Canyon and Hawaii) and growing up.

EDIT:  They also made two movie spin-offs in the mid-90s.  I actually saw the first one.  It was bad.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

"Early 70s" was before my time anyway and I wasn't keen on TV so even if it was brought over here I might not have known so.

And if you think this game is strange you've never seen the japanese indy market, loads of shmups and fighting games based on popular dating sims. Watch Naru from Love Hina pummel Ayu from Kanon, etc.

An irrelevant point, but the show is still somewhat of a pop culture icon today. Somehow it has transcended its time period, and is continually syndicated on one channel or another. It isn't just some '70s relic that's being licensed. The show is well-recognized by all American generations.

It's a great idea to put it on cell phones. The platform doesn't limit the game any more than the license does, and you have a potentially very large install base to go after. Impul$e download.

They make fighting games out of everything. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see Carebears vs. Teletubbies.
