TalkBack / World Of Goo Switch To Have Touch, Pointer Control Options
« on: February 14, 2017, 01:10:10 PM »

There's a lot of power in the JoyCons.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/44113/world-of-goo-switch-to-have-touch-pointer-control-options

The upcoming Switch port of World of Goo will have plenty of control options.

Tomorrow Corporation, the publishers of the game, have confirmed on Twitter that a touchscreen option for tablet/tabletop mode and a pointer mode for TV play will both be available.

The touchscreen play is similar to how the mobile versions of the game control, while the pointer control will use the right JoyCon in a fashion similar to the Wii Remote controls.

I pay for EU games with a JP credit card on an EU WiiU in JP.

I don't see the Switch changing that because it uses the same MyNintendo acc stuff innit.
It should (unless they randomly change something) just allow you to make multiple MyNintendo/eShop accs, and have them all come from the credit card of your choosing.

Pack-in will be Splatoon, 100% guaranteed.
Works locally, at your basketball game/roof party, works at home/online, it's perfect.
The game has style and is "cool", it'd be a great way of getting numbers up quickly.

Things I promised to link up on the episode:

The Nintendo World 2011 event page (feat. hands on impressions of 3DS games at the show)
The video of the event (feat live music and a cameo appearance by Danny before I'd actually met him, maybe?)

Halloween in the UK skit (Fry and Laurie)

I want an actual NES or Famicom joy-con to attach to my Switch. Not just decorations, actual layouts.

Quotes from this episode:

-We could see a little tit bit of news before the investors meeting.
-I'm not saying it'll be a full splurge, just the name and what it looks like, and then a "more to come later".

Podcast Discussion / Live 2016 Telethon Special - Famicast x 8-4 Play
« on: October 19, 2016, 02:12:45 AM »

Check out the "remastered" segment from NWR's telethon!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43561/live-2016-telethon-special-famicast-x-8-4-play

Did you miss the NWR Telethon this year? No problem! James and Danny are joined by 8-4 Play all-stars John Ricciardi and Justin "JJ" Epperson for this year's podcast telethon segment for the kids. This version of the episode contains all of the same content from when it originally aired on October 15, however, we have went ahead and put in musical breaks and enhanced the podcast as well. Woo!

As for what was actually on the Famicast segment, Danny recently got his hands on the retail version of Monster Hunter Stories and kicks off the show talking about it with everyone. He's still pretty early in, but the gang bring up interesting questions revealing more about the game (or something). After that, the crew delves into a feature discussion on the NX and what Japanese gamers need in terms of games and features. The show closes out with a new Super Mario themed interactive quiz from JC! Tons of laughs were had which will keep you going all the way down that "Sweet Road." If you would like to try you luck at the quiz, you can check it out here. (*note* The quiz link will only be active for one month starting at the time of this post.)

Psst... James, Marie is actually the sister who won the Splatfest, not Callie. I wish Callie had won!

Haha, thanks for bringing that back up! I believe I corrected myself on the following ep :-)

Cool! I'll be sure to listen to this version first then skip this hour in the RFN feed  ;D

Btw, the Famicast is getting similar treatment as we speak!

I apologise to the listeners for that dark first 25 mins, to make up for it, here's my contribution:

7 mins in: masturbation never gets old, that's why.
12 mins in: all I can think of is some Japanese salaryman getting that call at the office and having to lie about who it's from.
18 mins in: I really thought the end of Sairus' story was "and she drove by shouting 'LOSERS' and drenched us all with a giant puddle"

Only one more Famicast episode before NX is totally guaranteed* to be revealed!

Still listening (slowly) to this podcast.
Thanks for the TGS game impressions, and for the entertaining listen in general.

Wow thanks man! I'm assuming that comment was mainly aimed at me.

TGS was a bust for Nintendo fans, but we still had fun talking about it!

Podcast Discussion / Episode 88 - LAME SHOW STORIES
« on: September 20, 2016, 11:53:23 PM »

Hands on with EVERY Nintendo title from TGS. Are you ready?!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/famicast/43470/episode-88-lame-show-stories

Nintendo’s biggest calendar event of the year has finally come and the Famicast was there to cover all of the new releases and annou...oh wait, we went where? Tokyo Game Show? Was Nintendo even...Okay. Okay! How about, the Famicast is back with a special live recorded podcast fresh off of the showfloor from Tokyo Game Show 2016 where we managed to play literally every Nintendo system game at the event! Danny, James and Sairus all weigh in with what they played and what they thought of this year’s VR heavy event.

Before we get into the nitty gritty of TGS however, we have a look back at the recent announcement of Mario making his way to iPhones, which James in particular has some strong opinions on. We also round out the show with some of the news that came out around TGS, plus a look at our reader feedback.

You can check out the show in video form below as well as a special TGS 2016 troll video from none other than James. Enjoy the episode and let us know what you think!
