I'm really starting to get annoyed at the slim pickings that Nintendo is giving us.

Where is Super Mario World, Streets Of Rage, Mario Kart..

We're getting treated like idiots

The problem with pretty much every fishing game, except the odd one or two is that you are always casting from a fixed position. You can scroll right or left off the boat.. But you actually can't move the boat.

Surely with the technology we have now, its perfectly reasonable to expect a whole lake that you can move around to find the best swims. Fishing isn't really the most graphically intense game and a nice 360 degree back drop with a fairly large area to move around shouldn't be a problem!

The Wii gives great control to a fishing game. You should be able to realistically twitch and move the lure. Reeling is going to be a little different, but it doesn't take a genius to create something that feels right

That may create a slight problem for me as I only have 1 tv in my house that supports 60hz... Looks like I may have to go shopping in the near future!

Ah!

That will be my problem then!!! Couldn't see the wood through all the trees..

Doh!

Now all I need to do is lobby Nintendo so that they get the GC Freeloader working on the Wii and everything will be rosy again!

That's really weird.

I am playing Metroid Prime 2. I start the game, and the screen jumps up about two inches. When I reset the Wii, it still has the 2 inch gap, to remove it I have to go into settings and change the screen option from 60hz back to 50hz.

It was set at 50hz originally.

I will check that some of the other games don't do this... But if Prime 2 does support it then something is going wrong!

I opened mine on Christmas Day.

The family had heard of it but really showed little interest. After convincing them to have a go, myself, parents and Grandparents were playing Wii Sports for about 4 hours.

My 70 year old Grandfather has actually been entertaining thoughts of getting one for the bowling alone. Whilst that is a pretty expensive purchase for just 1 game it shows how much of an effect this new system has on Gamers and non gamers alike.

Nintendo Gaming / Wii forces Gamecube games to play in 60hz problem
« on: January 01, 2007, 08:20:35 PM »
Hi all

I am new here and fairly new to the whole Wii experience.

I have a Pal Wii and I'm based in the uk.

I have been trying to play my gamecube games on the Wii, however everytime I try to run a game the Wii changes from 60hz to 50hz and I can't stop it from happening. Someone told me that by holding down the B button on the GC controller it will change it back, but I have had no luck with this at all.

Can anyone tell me whether this is a bug that needs to be fixed by Nintendo, or if anyone can confirm the correct way to switch back to 50hz whilst in Gamecube mode?

Thank you
