At Blockbuster-Game Rush on 10/25 I bought NGC Battalion Wars for $9.99 and NGC Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for $4.99.  Both new.

I read that it's a maximum of 11 million built by the end of the year, rather than 9.  Two million in the 3rd quarter and 7-9 million in the 4th quarter of 2006.

Yes, you're right.  It does 480p.  I wiggled my component cable connection to the GC, and 480p started working.  A little looseness or corrosion, I guess.

Nintendo Gaming / Splinter Cell 480p?

Is "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" compatible with progressive scan?  It says so on the box, but I've tried two used copies and no go.

It's an insult to us.  I'm not going to use this new name.  It's still "Revolution".

Speaking of which, do you think we'll be able to plug the Logitech Speed Force wheel into the Revolution and have it work right?

And now we can understand why 480p support was removed from the Gamecube.  It was to differentiate the Gamecube-called-Gamecube from the Gamecube-called-Revolution.  Nintendo was planning this move back in 2004.  Sneaky.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Blockbuster at Kahala Mall (Oahu, Hawaii), used, $6.99.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:To buy or not to buy?
« on: April 07, 2006, 04:10:14 PM »
If the picture quality of the Revolution is less than that of the old Gamecube (using component cables), I'll be much less likely to buy a Revolution.  So, I need quality 480p output, a component connection, and games that generate 480p.

If the sound quality of the Revolution is better than Dolby PLII, like say DD 5.1, I'd be more likely to buy a Revolution.  The competition, after all, gives us DD 5.1, or maybe even DD+ for the PS3.

Reading some previous postings, I understand that caring about sound and picture quality is like going over to the dark side, but that's just the way it is.  Personally, I do care.

I see.  Well, that's too much trouble, I think.  I looked at the ones you made for Uncle Bob.  They're beautiful, and thanks for the offer.

So he does.  Thanks for the reference.

In editing my profile, I tried to select an avatar by clicking "view all", but the only available one displays as "none".  Is this deliberate?

But the Cube doesn't output 480p --- not since early 2004 when Nintendo dropped the Digital AV Out port.  That's why I thought it was worth mentioning.

How do you know the Revolution will output 480p?
