Quotei agree 100% and have been dreaming about something like this for too long... something about wandering alone in the woods when i was younger?
After watching the movie a few times there's a few more things I noticed. First of all I love that shot in the forest. It has individual trees! I was really disappointed with how the forest turned out in the N64 games as they were really just green mazes. This forest looks exactly what I envisioned when I first thought of Zelda in 3D. Second this trailer takes place entirely on LAND and it's look pretty wide open too! My biggest complaint with Wind Waker was that the sailing was tedious and the overworld was too bland because of all the water. This looks like they're going to back to the LAND of Hyrule again.
QuoteGameboy??? more like XBoyDS... am i rite?!11/
I see planet GC has a link up now so this must be real. All I can say is wow is it freaking huge. If anyone but NIN made this you guys would be all over it.
Quoteat this point they will probably also reveal the plans for the N5 controller. Ergodynamic, Retro-cool, and SIMPLE.
Maybe Nintendo thinks it's good news. Can't you imagine Iwata with a silly grin on his face saying "we are pleased to announce that we are no longer involved with Silicon Knights. Their focus on 'mature content' and 'story' is not the future. With them out of the way we are free to decidate our resources to new types of gaming that attract a wider audience. We are confident we can accomplish this with our new line of lever pulling games."
Quotethis CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!
E3 = EEE and EEE in the mirror is 333. Holy crap! It's a hoax!
Quotehow do you know?!? GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!!
Stop using IE, you fiend...
Quotei don't want to sound like an ass, but the characters/architecture from kid icarus is greek in origin... quite different from gothic architecture...
When you say that, do you mean that based on the graphical style of the game, the art found in the instruction booklets, or is it just a personal opinion? In my personal opinion, I could see a dark Kid Icarus. Not a dark story, but a dark world that it takes place in.... because the original had that same dark gothic style.
QuoteI do see not using voice-acting as an off-shoot of maybe differing philosophies, however, I'm not so sure a lack of voice acting is due so much to a unwillingness to spend money. SK are a content heavy studio; they like making games that tell elaborate stories and the like. Nintendo on the other hand have always been more focused on making the play of the game stand out while the story seems to take a back seat. not to say nintendo games don't have stories, but i think it's miyamoto's philosophy to have the person playing the game feel like it is them "in the game"... zelda is good example i think. granted other characters in the game can have voices while leaving the main character speechless, so my theory is obviously not the definitive reason, however, i do believe it maybe a part of their reluctance to use voice.
Also it is obvious that voice acting costs more money and Nintendo doesn't have its war chest by spending on voice acting. It could be possible that Nintendo suggested that SK drop voice acting so both companies don't lose as much money and production time, and SK may have become disillusioned with Nintendo. Possible, not probable.
Quotemaybe he finally had the conversation and found it so underwhelming that he decided to find a new purpose...
GameSpy: Then Silicon Knights are not going anywhere?
Denis: No, never. Ever. And frankly, to consider us anything else but a part of Nintendo is a huge mistake. Because it's not ever gonna happen. We've had other publishers call us up. And we say, "Calling us is calling Nintendo. What would you like to do?" And with Konami, that's exactly what we're looking for!
The partnership has got a long time to go, and it gives me a long time to learn Japanese! I've been trying for three years now. One of my goals is to have a conversation with Miyamoto and Iwata and talk about game design philosophy entirely in Japanese. It's worthwhile -- it's a beautiful language, and I love the culture. There's so much to be admired, there's so much to learn from it. Our game design philosophy is based around Miyamoto Musashi's The Book of Five Rings ... and we were working on that years before we met Nintendo!
