Nintendo Gaming / MP 1 : Sheegoth boss undefeatable
« on: February 01, 2006, 10:42:48 AM »
AArrgghhhh!! I give up. I have been playing Metroid Prime ever since it came out almost two years ago and I still can't get past the Sheegoth boss. I have had no problems whatsoever finishing or advancing through my other games (including RE4, MP2, F-Zero) but this is one tough s-o-b. I know I shouldn't lock on because he'll just absorb the energy of my weapons. I know I should fire missiles at his head (without locking) but either it takes about a hundred missiles to destroy him or I'm doing something completely wrong. Can anyone please help ?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I don't like the new Zelda at all. I'm sure it'll have a great storyline, that the playability will be top notch, that the sound will be awesome, but the graphics, although impressive, don't do it for me. The game doesn't make me go "wow !", which was the reaction when I first saw footage of Metroid Prime and Zelda WW. But that's personal choice. The only (upcoming) game that's really making me go "wow" at the moment is Fire Emblem. I can't wait for that one !

It's not a question of being cool. I hate dubbing !  There's nothing like the original. And it's not just anime. I live in Europe (Belgium) which is next to France. We get French, German, Italian and Spanish television on cable. I dare you to come and watch a Hollywood movie with foreign dubbing. Have you ever seen a movie like Spiderman in French ?  Or enjoyed a classic western movie with Italian speaking Indians ?   Or what about Al 'Scarface' Pacino doing his thing in German ?   Makes your stomach turn, I tell you. I've seen DBZ in English... believe me, life can be cruel sometimes...

Fire Emblem looks set to be a killer Tactical RPG, spiced up with some really nice anime-style cutscenes. What I really hope is that they leave the Japanese voices intact and subtitle the whole game. You can never create the same atmosphere when the dubbing is just plain crap (and I know it will be crap, because every US version of any anime always sucks : I've seen Gundam, DBZ and so on in Japanese and then compared it to the US version : OH MY GOD !!). So please Nintendo, it's subtitles we want.

Nintendo Gaming / NES Tetris for Classic NES series on GBA
« on: March 10, 2005, 07:08:57 AM »
My wife is crazy about Tetris (as are most women) and the original Mario Bros. I already have a GC, but am considering the purchase of a portable console. As Mario Bros is already out on GBA, I was wondering whether anyone had heard or read something about the original Tetris being announded for release as Classic NES game on the GBA. Would be a cheap solution (and it would be mostly for my wife who doesn't give a toss about 3D and eye candy - she LOVES 2D mario, she HATES 3D mario).
Or should I wait for a Tetris to come out on the DS ?  I've heard that there's another Tetris World coming out on DS, but if it's anything like the GC and GBA versions (which were complete crap), that won't be an option. So, anyone ?

If everything else fails, go into a store and look at the back of the box.

Doesn't say on the back of the box... all of my games support both 50 and 60Hz (but there's no mention on the box), except for Metroid Prime 2 which is 60hz only (and THAT IS on the box).

Doesn't say on the website

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube games with 60Hz mode
« on: February 23, 2005, 06:49:52 AM »
Is there a list anywhere on the internet with all the games that support 60Hz mode on the Cube ?  I've heard that some games only run in 50Hz. Does anyone know whether Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes and James Bond Everything or Nothing support 60 Hz ?

Nintendo Gaming / Dragon Ball Z - Budokai 3
« on: November 25, 2004, 10:21:33 AM »
Has anyone heard or seen anything on a possible GC release of DBZ - Budokai 3 ?   I know Budokai 2 hasn't even been released on the cube yet, but as far as I'm concerned, they can skip the second installment. I've seen and played the game on a friend's PS2 and I must say the game rocks !  It's no Soul Calibur or Tekken, but it's very good nonetheless, especially if you're a DBZ-fan.
