I was also referring(if you read my post) to "Mario PLATFORMING ADVENTURE games" not games with mario characters plastered in them to sell well such as mario party. Another thing about these re-releases is that is just one game one cartridge with no bonuses or extras. Now if nintendo wanted to put 4 or 5 games on one cartridge or GCN disk for 30 bucks, then I would see the advantages there. Look what capcom is doing: 10 mega man games on one disk for thirty bucks which includes 6 NES games, 1 Super NES game, 1 playstation game and 2 arcade games.  And nintendo wants us to pay 17 bucks a pop for just one game? Makes no sense to me.

Yeah microsoft, that makes a lotta sense.

I'll be happy just so long as nintendo does SOMETHING with online play. Mario Kart Double Dash dosen't count, like I'm gonna drag an extra TV and gamecube to a friends house to play LAN.

I wish nintendo would concentrate on some new games for GBA, it would be such a wonderful way to have new games in old-school format, but all their attention seems to be focused on rehash after rehash and then reselling it for twice normal value on GBA. There have been only two mario adventure platforming games in the last 8 years for both n64 and Gamecube, and its time for some new blood.

Nope, its just as high where I live for those games. The game-exchange where I live isn't that big of a save. The newer games are always retail prices, and the rare games are always at insane prices. 5.00 for super metroid yes, but 2.50 I've never seen for any game over the crap level of quality. To give you an idea just how stupid some prices are for the rarer games, check out this Mega Man X3 game for sale at half.com. Mega Man X3

I wish they'd be like 10.
But I couldn't resist and ordered Legend of Zelda, oh soooo many memories with that game, I had to buy it.
Sheesh I'm so weak! lol

Well thats fine. I didn't say it was foolhardy for anyone else to buy these games, I just said that for me, it wasn't worth it to pay twice what the games are worth to buy them twice.

I hoped they'd learned their third-party lesson from the nintendo 64, clearly they have not. Will they learn it with the N5? Maybe. I wouldn't rely on it though.

LOL! Quite right. Is it just me? Or is nintendo really out of touch with what the people want? Miyamoto keeps spouting stuff like: "We want games to get simpler and simpler" when I want games to get longer and more complex. Do people want endless remakes and rehashes of games that have already been released? Or light-weight games like luigis mansion for launch titles? I for one would like a new mario game for gamecube, one new true mario game per SYSTEM just isn't enough.

I agree. There just aren't enough GBA games worth spending money on.  I think its
Crap 50%
Quality Nintendo Releases 20%
Nintendo Remakes,Rehashes 20%
Quality third party releases 5%
Accessories 5%

Well. Okay. You can get err....very mad for all I care. Ian Sane is right, I own links awakening and it is ten times better than the original. There is no need to buy it twice.

Cool. As far as I'm concerned, the SNES is nintendos' finest hour that hasn't been surpassed since. The best games are real hard to find though.

I have all/most of the NES games worth anything on animal crossing. The ones I don't own on animal crossing I have for the old NES anyway. Not much point in forking over 30 bucks as far as I can see.
