Has anybody seen a floor map on the internet of the convention center for this year's E3?
You know what I mean, right,  the map that has the actual location of each company on the LA convention center's floor.  I just would like to see it.  I had one for last years I think, but haven't been able to find one for this years.

Anybody seen one?

Also......

It's not a documentary,   it's a very, very short retrospective montage of footage from 4 or 5 games.

Besides, why would you be gettin it for that.   You should be gettin it for the 4 zelda games, all in one place, all on one system.

Why don't you just subscribe/renew to Nintendo Power?

If you come to these boards, you should be gettin it anyway.  It's $20 bucks or somtin for a year.

It all goes down after tomorrow, when you can subscribe and choose the collecters edition disk as your free gift.

That's how I'm doin it.

Wow,  that's a pretty cool find!

That must be why they named her like that, it's pretty sweet.

Now I definetlly want her to show up in the next Zelda game.  They should bring her back and expand on her character and say something like, " she carries the courage of her past owner" or something like that.  That's awesome!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wind Waker 2
« on: November 12, 2003, 02:55:13 PM »
I can't believe my topic has lasted this long!

Anyway, the topic I started arguing about in May was this......

If they were to Kill Ganon off in Wind Waker, he would not have been molded into stone.  He would have broken into many pieces, signifying the breaking of his body, signifying his death.

BUT, He didn't.  Nintendo chose not to destroy Ganon or the master sword  ( It would've broken as well, as its purpose would've been completed ) .  Instead, Nintendo chose to basically, chryogenically freeze Ganondorf and the master sword together, creating a bond.  We have seen bonds like this before in Zelda games, and they can span multiple games, passing even to the next generation of systems.

This is definetly the case we have here, as Nintendo has 2 storylines to develop.
-The bond of Ganondorf/Master Sword  + Hyrule
-Link and Tetra sailing off to a new land(kinda mirrors MM as Link goes off to another dimension)

-The latter plot we will see in Wind Waker 2, with maybe some foreshadowing of the return of Ganon
-  On the N5, Hyrule will return in some way as the bond between sword and flesh is broken, somehow... someway.

To sum up, the Zelda of old is not gone, but has been stowed away nicely by nintendo until they see fit to release it.

The floodwaters subside to the top of Ganon's Tower.  Somebody pulls the sword out, the seal is broken, Ganon comes back to hunt the triforce.

Easy as pie.

I don't know where you guys are gettin this stuff.

I'm a male 16 year old and live in North Carolina.  I was simply making a joke about the
power outage in the northeast, not making fun of the the great nation that I live in.

Have you ever seen Stripperella? man that show is good, but not as good as burned on MTV!

I know the answer to that, but 99.8 % ( whatever) of America doesn't...
because they have no power!!!!!!!!! ha-ha, oh, that was the best

Anyway, I watch TV constantly and 2 weeks away from release there are no ads for F-zero[still only Mario Golf, Rebel Strike, and Wrestlemania XIX].  Now would be the time for Nintendo to pump out the ads for F-zero, if they want people to consider the game, or even the console.  Why only MTV and SPIKETV?  Put F-zero commercials on all the major channels. And, 4 weeks away from launch would be the perfect time to roll out P.N.03 ads on the minor channels.

Why are they not doing this?

Any try at an answer would be appreciated.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker 2
« on: May 26, 2003, 09:17:01 AM »
Okay, so it has been announced.  Now comes the disection of the interview and ideas of the story.

Aonuma states that it will be a sequel to wind waker, much like majoras mask was to ocarina.  This should go for both a continuation of the graphical style, and the story.   This means the game will likely take place on Link and Tetras "new land".   ( Just something that gets me mad, it will be tetra throughout the game instead of Zelda because she doesn't have the triforce anymore, that sucks ).
He says the playing field hasn't been decided on yet, but he must have a rough outline of the story and whether it takes place on land or in the sea.
---My guess is this:  Stuff will start happening in the new kingdom.  Link will start having dreams of Hyrule, and of its king sunk on the ocean floor.  Ganon will rise (somehow) and come search for the triforce yet again.  The king will return to aid Link and tell him where the triforce has been hidden.

The core of the plot still eludes me, but I bet this is the beginning.  In one year it should be playable, meaning in 5-7 months, maybe even earlier at spaceworld,  we should see screenshots and more storyline bits.  I am already excited about this new chapter in the series, It will be great!

Nintendo Gaming / Geist: Coolest game style ever!
« on: May 13, 2003, 02:08:52 PM »
Just from the info i've read and the few screenshots I've seen(I expect more in the next couple of days), this game has got the coolest premise i've ever heard of.  You are a ghost, searching for your long lost body. You take over other peoples/animals bodies to steal their physical and mental powers.  Oh, yea,  did I mention it is a first person game?  I'm not sure if it is and adventure(fpa) or a shooter(fps)  I hope n-space(the people makin it) will create a nice fps.  That would be sweet.

Sony, take note,  This is called innovation.

Nintendo Gaming / Final Battle: BAD A$$ MO FO (SPOILERS WITHIN)
« on: April 10, 2003, 05:15:50 PM »
I woulda liked the final battle better if Ganondorf actually had some "magical attacks", and was stronger.

In the first part of the battle, he should have been able to charge his swords up, outstrech his arms and start spinning at you. The hurricane spin, only it's being used against you.  I think ganondorf shoulda sheathed his swords after he struck Zelda and begun to attack you with the secondary attack the Phantom Ganons do.  Not the one you knock back at em, but the other one that is kinda red.  When Zelda woke back up, ganondorf shoulda taken his swords back out and started attackng/blocking, with no magical effects.

This is the cooler battle outline (Just my opinion & creativity):
   Stage 1
---Ganondorf:  normal sword attacks/blocking + evil Hurricane Spin
---Link:  must dodge attacks/parry when neccesary to get hits off.  Let Zelda get some hits off so you
can attack while he is stunned.  Neccesary hits to end stage 1 much more than what it is now.
---Zelda:  Shoot light arrows at Ganondorf

   Stage 2
---Ganondorf: normal sword attacks/blocking + red attacks from Phantom Ganons
---Link:  must dodge both attacks/parry around sword attacks to get hits off.  Again, this stage would
last longer than what it is now.
---Zelda:  Lay still

   Stage 3
---Ganondorf:  EXTREMELY damaging sword attacks + INSANE blocking ability(No other attacks)
---Link:  use shield often. Parrys don't work unless it is immediatly after he is stunned by the light
arrow that reflected off your shield and hit his chest.  Still, only one hit will do, but it will take alot
longer to get that one hit than it does now.
---Zelda:  Shoot at Links shield so he can try and bounce it into Ganondorfs Chest. Try not to hit him

^^^This was simply my image of what woulda made this battle better^^^

I'll pursue it on gamemusic.com and hopefully get a copy. I do have the cash to shed on something like this so the $ doesn't really matter.

thanks for the info about American copies, i had no idea about that.

Nintendo Gaming / Ideas on how to get the Wind Waker Soundtrack.
« on: April 10, 2003, 01:59:45 PM »
I just want to know if anybody knows anything about how I could get the soundtrack.
-I have never pursued a soundtrack for any game so I do not know how to recieve one.

I went to gamemusic.com and it says they are out of stock, but it's for the Japanese version anyway so it doesn't even matter, cause i want the American version.

If I wait a few months will Nintendo sell it on their site? Or will gamemusic.com get the American version so I can snatch it earlier.

I'm thinking I can't just walk into Blockbuster music and see game soundtracks right next to movie soundtracks, so is online the only way to get game soundtracks?

---I really want the Soundtrack to this game, I just don't know how to get it...   Please help.

The creative burst that let me delve into the story of the next Zelda has come and gone.  I now realize that, unless something miraculous happens,  Hyrule, its king, ganondorf, and the master sword are now gone from any future zelda games. Unless they take place in the past, which will make the series twice as complex as it already is.

---I still hold to my theory that Ganondorf is not dead, or else Nintendo would've made his stony body break into a thousand pieces.   And Ganondorf himself didn't really mold into stone, it simply surronded his temporarily lifeless body, as if making a perfect stand for somebody to rip the blade right out from his head, and breaking the seal for evil to reign once again.  And if you think that the water from the sea above will destroy Ganondorf and the master sword, (likewise the king), then you're pretty stupid.

20
"I have scattered the seeds of the future"
                                     King Hyrule

What does that mean?  He's scattered the triforce around so you gotta go looking for them?  I think so.  You must search for them later in the quest. you create a new kingdom that resembles Hyrule very closely.  King Link and Queen Zelda haven't aged much since the end of Wind waker.  An evil potionmaster steals links sea charts out of the Castle's basement, finding the location of the sunken master sword.  He is a very evil man who wants power over everything.  The evil potion master starts to pull out the blade but the King, still alive, destined to gaurd the blade forever, appears.  But he is to late.  The evil potionmaster swims off.  The King can't believe it as he looks toward the Potionmaster swimming away.
The seal has been broken.  Ganondorf laughs from behind the kings back.  The King is captured by Ganondorf. Meanwhile, the evil potionmaster has sent monsters into three places on the map.  Link has to go there, recieving items from the creatures based there.  Link finally defeats the evil potionmaster and again holds the master sword in his hand.  This allows the King to telepathically speak to him, telling him how ganon has come back and corrupted their new land.  The king says the only way to abolish this evil is to get the real triforce, all three pieces.  Link battles through three dungeons, getting courage and wisdom, but Ganon steals power from link in the last dungeon, he also kidnaps Zelda and goes to create a tower for his evil purposes.  Link must go through two more dungeons to recieve the items that will allow him to defeat Ganondorf, he fails to kill him when he has the chance,  Ganon's soul is sucked into the evil potionmasters son, which sets the stage for the next game.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker boring? (spoilers)
« on: April 04, 2003, 11:56:40 AM »
Quote

I just reached the "sail the world and search for triforce maps" section. My God! This is like torture!!! Wasting days on end, sailing on a boring sea, and searching every-nook-and-cranny is horrible. This tedious triforce task is worse than my job. There's no fun here.

--I don't understand because you should have a map that tells you exactly where to get the triforce charts
--Sailing doesn't take as long because you can warp around at will, I guess you've probably already found it, but it doesn't sound like it to me.
--If sailing is boring go to the glowing rings and dredge up some treasure chests. It will help your rupee situation as well.  You could also dredge up some major treasure from treasure maps if you have them.
--You also have 2 more dungeons to plow through, so you don't even have to be searching for the triforce of courage right now, if you didn't already know that.

Nintendo Gaming / ?(^Spoilers^)
« on: April 03, 2003, 02:56:11 PM »
This is one of my minor complaints about the music.  It actually makes sailing less enjoyable because you have to listen to a rearranged, out of order, and very... very drawn out take on the original overworld theme.  The anger engulfes me when I leave an island and the beat starts.  They should have kept the "normal" overworld theme.  It would have made the game as a whole a lot better.

Of Course, this flaw is made up for by the outstanding use of music from past Zelda games in what seems like every situation.

Am I the only one that noticed the "midnight of the last day" music from MM in the warp from the first 2 temples after beating the boss?
When you do the Ballad of Gales, do you notice the same notes as the OoT warp songs?
When Tetra transforms into Zelda, can you hear the beat from Lttp.
But of course,  the Reincarnated song that takes the cake is the score from Hyrule Castle, which is carried on from game one, all the way to Wind Waker.

Any comments on what seems like the best soundtrack for any game ever made?(at least I think so).

Nintendo Gaming / Green... or Red? Both it seems.
« on: March 27, 2003, 07:22:33 AM »
So here is the deal.  I have beaten the original OoT, that came out in '98 on the N64, upwards of 5 times.  When I beat it, I always look foward to the spewing RED blood of Ganondorf.  Then, After I escape the castle, and defeat Ganon,  I am treated to 2 sword slashes and an impalement by link, each with its own spew of RED blood.

Now, here is the strange thing, in Nintendo Power, someone wrote a question and asked whether the blood was GREEN or RED.  The answer from the guy at NP was...   "I seem to recall it was GREEN."

Now,  I thought that was a straight up lie...  until I beat Master Quest on the Bonus Disk.  In Master Quest, the Blood in all 4 instances is GREEN.

So.......   Let us get this straight once and for all.

-It was originally released with RED blood
-Changed later to GREEN, so no more copies of RED blood were being sold.
-Change to GREEN was kept on the Bonus Disk

Is all the stuff I wrote above correct?

Nintendo Gaming / Pre-orders Closing in on OOT
« on: March 13, 2003, 07:26:55 AM »
I'm so confused by this whole situation.  I thought the 560,000 preorders were only for EB games because that is who made the comment of the most pre-ordered game of all time.  But, I guess I can now go around saying Wind Waker is the most preordered game in history.  But I will have nothing to back it up because, for some reason, major sites are not reporting this.

Nintendo Gaming / OoT and Master Quest Discussion
« on: February 17, 2003, 04:40:26 PM »
Its pretty sweet how nintendo created ura zelda/master quest.  Only the masters could take 8 dungeons, keep the dimensions of every room the same, but change all the puzzles, all the enemies, and all the items.  I just beat the re- arranged forest temple and am incredulous to how Nintendo could do such a wonderful job at changing the game.  Maybe it's just me, but I think some of the cut-scenes are gamecube quality graphics in some spots.  If not, then I guess I have forgotten that N64 graphics looked somewhat good.

--- On a side note:  In the preview for the Wind Waker, There is a wonderful scene where Link brings the Master Sword to his face as he closes his eyes, then reaches it high up into the air.  I'm callin' it right now as my favorite part of the preview, and maybe the actual game.  I'll have to wait til March to see if my statement stands.
