If they did a Full HD remake of Super Mario 64 added in the bonus characters from Super Mario 64 DS...and include better controls with Mario sliding down the walls for wall jumping it would be the best Mario game ever.

Though perhaps Nintendo should also add a few new levels just to make it even a better option.

What I hate about the "HD Collections" on PS3 is that they are just PS2 ports with enhanced resolutions. They aren't actual remakes.

If Nintendo decides to remake their older games in HD, I want them to be rebuilt from the ground up, with new textures, more polygons, etc. Kind of like what Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario 64 DS were.

I think its time for a Wiimake of Super Mario Sunshine. That would make more sense than Super Mario 64 because SM64 was already redone on the DS as its launch title, and plus there's the fact that SM64 is a widely popular and well known game. In contrast, Sunshine sold poorly (by Mario game standards), and is less well known and has never had a remake of it done before. It just makes perfect sense.

Regarding GameCube games on the Wii U, it ultimately depends on whether Nintendo stands to make more money from selling HD compilations or selling them on the new Virtual Console. Going by their attitude up to now, I would bet on collections-on-disc being the distribution route they choose, but if they're serious about promoting the eShop, that attitude could change.

One thing I'm almost certain of is that if they do put GameCube titles on Wii U, there won't be any radical changes graphics-wise. I expect increased resolution, nothing more, and would be very surprised if they actually went in and added more detail to textures and such.

3DS revision rumors.

http://kotaku.com/5914495/is-nintendo-planning-to-announce-a-new-model-3ds

Rumor or not it's going to happen sooner or later and at least twice.
So how can include my links into the actual text like some of you do?

It'll happen but I can't imagine it happening this early.
With the current 3DS on the cusp of per/unit profitability, with with the huge expense of releasing and marketing the Wii U this fall.
Further, these Amazon stockout rumours seem to suggest that a new model 3DS would be made available immediately or closely following announcement at E3...which would mean the system is manufactured and ready-to-ship....with no leaks whatsoever....

Might, depends on how agressive Nintendo wants to be.  If the new version comes out this year as well as another reduction in price of the old 3ds then Sony's going be in trouble with Vita (well alot more than they are now).  The more pressure placed by Nintendo will help their WII U as well becaues it's going bankrupt poor ole sony.  Sony would either have to pull support of the vita or divide what little resources they have into two markets.

I ain't buying a Wii U for some N64 game I already own.  If that's one the launch title then, Nintendo, switch that facebook page to have two titles because saying you have "three" is a borderline lie.

I am shocked how positive people react to re-releases of old titles and they're rarely people who have never played the game before.  Is $50 worth it to you to avoid hooking up your old N64?  Nintendo treats remakes and re-releases as if they are brand new games.  They will allow months to go by with only remakes being released and "count" that as providing a healthy lineup to their customers, when for a section of non-sucker customers that no different than not releasing anything at all.  If they could get away with just reselling you old content they would.  If you get excited about Super Mario 64 HD you are a sucker and you ruin it for the rest of us.

It would take about 4 weeks to remake Super Mario 64, i would hope that wouldn't be the marquee title though. Id prefer a whole new Mario experience. However, I want something more basic like Mario 64. I love Mario Galaxy but sometimes its so complicated if you get what i mean.

Personally, I prefer my old games kept as-is and on VC. I'm actually not a big fan of remakes or double-dipping. That one month porting could be much better spent on the next Dr. Mario title which I 100% WILL buy.

Smash Bros. will be teased with a logo, and maybe a short teaser trailer. F-Zero and Star Fox I can definitely see being shown, possibly demoed.

I don't know why Nintendo is only having an hour-long conference. That won't be enough time to show everything.

I don't know why Nintendo is only having an hour-long conference. That won't be enough time to show everything.

Also that's the consequence of doing it on Tuesday: the E3 Showfloor doors open like, 2 hours after Nintendo's presser.

Personally, I don't mind as long as they keep holding other events like the roundtable and showcases that technically give Nintendo upwards of 2 hours to talk about things they want to talk about.

Square Enix confirmed to Kotaku that the Final Fantasy XV "trailer" is fake. Not really a surprise. Square Enix already said that Versus XIII wasn't going to be at E3 which I'm sure some people took as "Because it got renamed Final Fantasy XV!" Once I was able to see the clip on a computer, I knew it was a hoax for a few reasons.

In any case, I'd still love to see the game be ported to Wii U whenever Square Enix decides to release it. This is why you don't announce a game until you're confident of a release date. The first trailer was shown over 6 years ago.

Super Mario 644. That's all I'm gonna say.

I'm also just going to throw this out- Nintendo has had pretty much a year, not counting Skyward Sword, of no "major" console game releases. Yeah, yeah, Mario Party 9 (also Kirby's Adventure, which I am ashamed to throw under the bus), but they've used the Rainfall games to buffer the end of the Wii lifetime for pretty much a whole year. They've been working on things for the Wii U and they damn well better show it off next week. They better understand that this presentation can't be half-assed if they're going to sell this system, and personally, I buy Nintendo systems primarily for Nintendo games, so SHOW ME THEM.

I was joking. I already know about the developer's roundtable, and they are filming that for the first time ever!

Still, it's much more exciting to announce things on a large stage in front of a rabid audience of "journalists".
