You know, I'm suprised we haven't seen any games with a full point and click interface, like a RTS.

I'm sold on:
Mario Galaxy. (watch the large play demo on ign and tell me it doesn't look awesome)
Red Steel (It will rise above any controller jitters, haters!)

Most everything else is a at least a must try the demo or rent. I'm sure I will be buying more.

Launch Purchases:
LoZ:TP
Excite Truck
Wii: Sports (at a $20 price point)
FFCC:CB (If they listen to my complaints about the first one this should be an excellent game)

Maybe:
Project Hammer

Non-Game:
Wii System
Classic Controller (After making a psuedo comic series about it I just have to have one for display purposes alone.)
An extra Wiimote bundle

After Launch:
Mario Galaxy
SSBB
Camelot RPG

When there is a lull:
MP3

This is just off the top of my head but there is probably more so lets do some math with these and see what my Max Launch spending will be.

High Estimates:
$299.99 Wii  .5
$30 Wii Classic
$30 Wii Standard
$50 Progressive Scan Cables + shipping 1
$60 LoZ:TP 2
$50 Excite Truck 3
$50 FFCC:CB
$20 Wii Sports
Sub-Total: $589.99
Total: $647.52 4

Closing Comment:
lol even with my high ball estimates I'm still $10 cheaper then just buying the properly outfitted PS3.  That's not even including the tax.  Though I still beleive strongly in the $250 price point.  Also I don't think that LoZ:TP will really sell for $60 and the Progressive scan cords will be more then $25.  So once we make those corrections.  I have a launch price of... $504.99 and we add tax $554.23.  Well that's cheaper then just the real PS3.  You know I'll think I'll splurge and use the rest on proper gaming sustenance for my hours of play time. (aka Snack food and Pizza)

.5: Max Price as stated by Reggie
1: This is how much the PS2 ones cost.  The GCN's are about $25 but this is a high estimate
2: Nintendo could ask that for the Wii version and still sell more then the GCN version (Which would be 10 dollars cheaper)
3:  This be the one that gets tossed if money's tight.  Know if it was say $40 then I would definetly get it.  Period.
4:  Sales Tax where I live is 9.75%

I am sold on quite a few Wii games:

Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
The Legend of Zelda TTP
Wii Sports (I hope its a pack-in, because I will skip this for the other games)
Bomberman (I just hope they have classic battle mode with online support)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I forgot about mentioning this, because I believe it will be out late next year.)

Games I am interested in, but will see how they turn out first:

WarioWare: Smooth Movements (I haven't always gotten into the Wario gameplay.)
Red Steel (Needs more polish, and I want online multiplayer.)
Madden Football (I hate sports game usually, but I am very intrigued by this game.)

There are also quite a few DS games I am interested in...the two biggest for me is:

Star Fox DS and
Yoshi's Island 2.

Yoshi's Islan 2 is a must buy...But I feel I will be limited in time with Wii games so I may skip Star Fox DS.

From a quick scan of past posts, it seems that relatively few of us are "sold" on third party offerings. Don't y'all know that third parties like Ubisoft (Rayman Raving Rabbids, Red Steel) or Atlus (Trauma Center: Second Opinion) or Activision (Call of Duty 3, Tony Hawk's Downhill jam) need love too?

For me, Wii Launch is Metroid and Trauma Center. Vincent, Jonny, and I spoke with Atlus at length regarding their plans, and that got me pumped.

Atlus has had to many games I've wanted and then they do a surpise limited release or ax the plans to bring them stateside.  I will not be teased anymore.

Let me tell you this: I will run through the forums naked if Atlus doesn't release Trauma Center here. I think they're more excited than we are about it, frankly.

I wasn't going to get a Wii at launch (I was going to wait for it to be more widely available and just have GC Zelda and Super Paper Mario hold me over), but the excitement and raves of the remote has gotten me to completely rethink about the situation and (gasp) pre-order the darn thing way ahead of time.  Anyways, games that I will probably get will be Madden, Metroid, and Wii sports. I'm not going to consider Zelda because there is nothing to consider. I'm going to get it. Trauma Center looks very interesting. I haven't felt this excited for a game console since...I have never felt this much excitement about a game console's launch.   Basically, the games I will consider seriously will have to make full use of the remote and have as much free form play as possible. From what I see so far, I am definitely considering Red Steel, but I am waiting for definitive answers about the responsiveness of the controls for that game. I'm hoping that the Wii will be the console that ushers in the new golden age of gaming, and for some strange reason, I think it already is.

Red Steel is something I am excited about...but I want to read the reviews first...same with the other games.  I have been burned by 3rd party purchases in the past...that is why I am hestitant.

Rayman 4.  Plus looking at my above estimate again knowing what I know now.  That drops it to $549.99 then we add tax $603.61 then if I go with my realistic estimate I could buy either Galaxy, Rayman 4, Red Steel, et al.

Yeah, add Ray 4 for me but cancel MP3 for now.

I was all set on it, but then I recently had a discussion about the insane amount of backtracking in MP2 and I've opted to wait and see if people think it's any better in terms of backtracking.

Loved the enemies, bosses and puzzles, but the backtracking killed my ability to finish the game.

I'll wait for a review before I buy, but that still leaves Red Steel, TP, Wario Ware, Rayman 4, FF:CC, DQ (if Square does deliver for launch), and possibly something else, depending on what else makes it to release.

I'm not 100% sure Square has PROMISED launch titles, but I'd likely grab both, so long as FF:CC has some revamped gameplay and especially if it has online play.

As long as they fix the gripes I had about it then I'll be happy.  But from the few things I've seen it looks like it might be an actual adventure of some sort this time.  FFCC felt like they planned for a lot of stuff but in the end had to trim it down a lot.

Yeah, CC on the cube was decent and all, but I think it would be better online and without miasma haunting your every step.

I hear "Action Game" will feature real-time weapon switching...

As for the topic, for some reason, I thought this was just about launch games...

In the following order:

Heroes
Red Steel
Wii Sports

SSBBrawl (put to bottom of list if it needs 4 classic controllers to be purchased to play it)
Excite Truck
Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Final Furlong
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Sonic Wild Fire
Tiger Woods Golf

Probably not Mario Galaxy, didnt like sunshine and not impressed with the E3 video.

I'm mysteriously optimistic about DQ for some reason..but damn it all...we are getting into the home stretch here time wise and yet there are still no worthwile previews for the outstanding majority of games...like the DQ one.

Nintendo HAS to start letting cats out of bags and such pretty soon so people can have enough of a inkling on everything to avoid getting burned on a near-blind purchase...not to mention building hype and gauging fan reaction to it all.

SSBB is a lock though.  Hopefully gaining much more company in The Lock Club sooner rather than later.

Actually I don't think this thread was specific.  Plus I liked the Miasm haunting you in FFCC but I would have liked online PSO style and that when you went back to places the story they told at the beginning progressed.
