Disney owns Marvel Comics, so they should just finance and produce the movies themselves. They can have other companies distribute them, but those companies would have to give Disney a spot in the credits sequence.

[Example]
"Sony Pictures presents...
A Walt Disney Pictures / Marvel Studios production..."

Warner Bros. has no problems holding onto their DC Comics movie rights. So why is Disney in a tough situation?

Marvel only started making their movies themselves a few years ago (mainly because they didn't have the money to make their own movies). They used to license out their IP's to be made into movies. When Disney bought Marvel, they started trying to get the rights to their properties back, but they can only do so when contracts expire (which is why they just got the TV rights to Spider-Man back last year). The deal Marvel signed with Sony said that as long as Sony keeps making Spider-Man movies, they can keep the license. Their is nothing Disney can do about it. I think it's the same with 20th Century Fox and X-Men. But Disney has been financing and distributing the movies they have the rights too (like The Avengers). DC Comics has been owned by Warner Bros. for several decades, so didn't need to worry about licensing out their IP's since Warner Bros. just did the movies themselves.

What do you mean? Warner Bros. did release the Watchment movie (at least in the US, Paramount did it outside the US). And apparently the Watchmen situation is odd as the contract between the creators of the comic and DC basically says that DC only owns the rights as long as they keep it in print (but if it goes out of print for over a year, the rights revert to the creators).

It has the same godawful sound FX and music stylings as Battleship. Just awful. BAWWWWWW BAWWWWW!

Star Trek is looking like a collection of past Star Trek Tropes.

I wish Superman isn't another bloody origin story. **** origin stories.

I saw the Evil Dead trailer and was impressed. I hear people bashing it for being a remake, but apparently Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are behind it all the way. It looks like the movie they wanted to make to begin with, and by that i mean a better movie. Most people when they talk about evil dead, they are reall talking about evil dead 2.

Well, at least the Iron Man 3 trailer looked alright. Everything else looks to be utter garbage... or strangely ambiguous, like Superman.

Looks to be a prequel to the original film. I'm not too familiar with the book series though, so I'm not sure if it's a further adaptation of one of those or not.

There are a bunch more movie trailers out there, but the one I posted are the ones that I've seen so far that interest me the most.

Notables to mention include:

Jack the Giant Killer also looks interesting

Thor 2 is also next year

Hobbit 2 is next year

Monsters Inc 2 & Despicable Me 2

Kick Ass 2

The Wolverine

300 (the sequel)

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc4CiTvQ-YE

The Hangover 3

Oldboy (american remake)

Sin City 2

Hunger Games 2

Fast & Furious 6

Die Hard 5(?)

G.I. Joe 2

I'm sure I will be watching all of these at some point next year.

The **** do you make a sequel to 300? That story is DONE.

Die Hard died with 4.

The first Hangover never should have existed. So much unfunny.

The new 300 is actually a prequel, focused on the uprsing of Xerxes, or whatever his name was.

Hangover 2 was a rehash, but the first one was entertaining

Die Hard should have stopped after 3, 4 wasn't a turrible movie, but 5 probably shouldn't have been greenlighted.

There's a lot of pointless sequels on that list. However, I will see Fast 6. I really liked The Rock in the last one.
