Nintendo Downloads - March 24, 2016

At times like this, kids like you should be at home playing Nintendo games!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/42338/nintendo-downloads-march-24-2016

It’s quite a heavy week for North America on the New 3DS downloads front. The headliner is Hyrule Warriors Legends (with all of its DLC fun later on), which sounds like a good way to destroy the Easter weekend. (If you have an original 3DS or 2DS, well… go read Neal’s review before jumping in.) But before you can bomb some Dodongos, you can enjoy three of the Super Nintendo’s finest including the RPG that defined my gaming preferences (Earthbound), the game that made Rare a BIG DEAL (Donkey Kong Country) and the introduction to one of Nintendo’s best selling franchises (Super Mario Kart).

On the Wii U, it’s Zach Miller Day as we get Yoshi’s Story on the Virtual Console and OH HAY LOOK SHANTAE Risky’s Revenge Director’s Cut representing the eShop. Others may wish to grab Infinity Runner, an intriguing looking sci-fi runner previously found on the PlayStation 4.

Europe gets Hyrule Warriors Legends, and its final New 3DS Virtual Console doubleheader this week hits Donkey Kong Country really hard with the original and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. On the Wii U, DO A BARREL ROLL and pick up Star Fox 64 – it’s half off until Zero releases, to boot.

Dang it!!!
about 2 years ago I assumed that Star Fox 64 would be here very soon and since white pro controllers were on clearance I bought 4 so that my kids and I could play 4 player Star Fox dog fights (yes I own the 3D version on 3DS, but the 4 player mode has been changed a lot and I don't enjoy it) so when I heard that Europe was getting Star Fox this week I was all excited to give Nintendo my $10 and start playing 4 player Star Fox (especially since Star Fox Zero doesn't have a 4 player mode) now I feel crushed.

$12 CAD for a SNES game, I will never get over that ridiculous nonsense. That being said, I am considering EarthBound as much as it pains me to say. I'm out of the house 12 hours a day for work and have a relatively active social life, so most of my gaming is done on my 3DS during my long transit, lunch break, and in bed. I hardly have the time of day to even turn my Wii U on. Maybe this time I'll manage to play EarthBound through to completion! Though I'm still only in the early chapters of my second Fire Emblem campaign and I do intend on getting Revelation once I eventually finish it. Too many RPGs, not enough time...

Just played demo of Johnny’s Payday Panic.

Yeah, this costs 2 euros at least.

$6.99's not a bad price at all for Infinity Runner. I Platinumed the game on PS4, and it's certainly a fair amount of fun in small doses.

Mario Kart makes me wish it had 2-player simultaneous support (even if it did require 2 new 3DS and two copies), though the only mode worth playing that way is Battle Mode (still possibly the best Battle Mode of any game in the series).

We can't even get two-player modes included in GB/GBC games that had them. :(
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

The NES games allowed it, though, and you'd figure these would be more in line with them than the handheld games.
