In an unofficial translation of CoroCoro, a Japanese magazine, more details on the upcoming Pokémon X and Y were revealed.

Three new chracters have been confirmed to be in the game. First is Sansa who had appeared in one of the earlier trailers for the game following the player into a forest. The second character, Pansy, had orignally appeared in the Pokémon anime. The third individual is a gym leader who focuses on bug-type Pokémon, her name has been confirmed as Viola.

Other characters named to appear in the game are the player's rival Callum or Serena depending on the gender selected by players.

Finally three new Pokémon were given names in Japanese, a lion cub Pokémon named Shishiko who is a fire/normal type. Also named was  Furabebe a fairy-type Pokémon and Vivillon’s pre-evolutions were also named Kofukimushi and Kofuurai.
