True dat. And that is just a linked image from my Photobucket account I believe. Although Apdude did create it so maybe he knows a secret. But I would think that all one should have to do then is put in the link and it should work. I should test it on myself right now.

Yeah, so I just clicked on Dasmos' avatar and saved it to my desktop. Then I uploaded it as my profile pic and the animation worked just fine.

Thus, I'd say your problem is the actual file you are linking to. I'm not sure if it has been edited or converted to an avatar size or how it is formatted but that could be your issue.
