I was actually thinking of dropping by the local gamestop and best buy on my way home and get the details in these midnight launches. I may end up waiting in line on the evening of the fourth. Best of luck to anyone else still trying to secure a switch 2 on day 1.

Oh wow this sounds extremely approachable! I tried playing a Rune Factory game eons ago and in my experience it felt so dense that I just couldn't get into it at the time, so this sounds like a breath of fresh air and might be my time to finally get into the series!

Hmmmm, might be a great game if I have a lull anytime in my Switch 2 gaming ^_^

Luigi Dude is depressing me with the 20-30 years comment.  I'm currently playing a PS2 game that is now over 20 years old.  Will I be playing an equivalent of that when I'm in my 60s?  Hmmmm.

Though we don't need to go 20 years.  The Switch is 8 years old which means that the 3DS ceased to be a current system 8 years ago.  If I want to play a 3DS game today that I don't already own I need to find a used cart.  I can't buy it from the digital store anymore and Nintendo cut that cord really quick.  Now with the Switch 2 being backwards compatible that is not likely going to happen with the Switch 1.  It seems Nintendo is now finally using one store and account that will cross multiple generations.  But it wasn't always that way and that was a good reason to support physical games on the Switch.

Street Fighter 6 is only $40 US for Switch 2?  I would've expected it to be $60 at least, unless the $40 version is missing the Year 1 & 2 DLC.

You mean 5269 guests don't have a burning interest on NWR's size?

There's new news about the Switch 2 hacking that has me very concerned. There was a story making the rounds a bit ago about a new EULA saying Nintendo has the right to brick systems if they are modified but most people seem to have written that off as ass covering over system updates breaking stuff after loading custom firmware. But it seems to have been actually literal. Putting a Mig cart into the system bricks the Switch 2. Not pops up an error message, not a forced shut down/reset, but an actual unrecoverable brick. Probing the flash memory chip will brick the console too. If anything causes the voltage to fluctuate slightly, the Switch 2 will assume hacking and brick itself.

I've had carts on the switch 1 randomly give an error message for no reason that I had to eject and reinsert, will the switch 2 just self destruct? If the switch 2 gets wet or dirty or humid, will it self destruct? If a spider gets inside and bridges the memory lines, self destruct? Cosmic rays and radiation, self destruct.
I wanted to get a 1st revision Switch 2 but now I'm delaying it indefinitely to see how horribly this blows up in Nintendo's face.

Edit: MVG says it's bunk. We'll see in a week.

I'm 97.56% physical with the switch 1 and have an SD with 750+GBs of mostly updates & downloads for the physical games. Key cards requiring downloading isn't that much of an issue for me other than the fact that SD express cards are going to run out of space fast unless Nintendo lets you archive games to a hard drive. But I'm worried about the warning about magnets for game-key cards if they won't decay in a few years time....

Having all my game digitally on the system is nice but I rather wait for someone to softmod the system and dump the physical games like I've already did with my Wii/3DS.

I went all digital on the Switch and will continue on the Switch 2.  I just don't see any reason in owning physical when many game get patches or DLC these days.  It's like, what's the point in owning a physical copy when it's an incomplete version of the game anyway?  Plus when I literally have hundreds of games on my Switch, having a physical library would be a nightmare.  I don't have the time and space to deal with all that.

Plus I always find the argument about losing all my games when the system dies laughable.  Right now if my Switch were to die, I can send it in the Nintendo to have it repaired and still keep all my games.  So for at least the next decade, there's nothing to worry about in that regard.  I guess in 20 or 30 years from now it might be a problem, but will I even still be playing my Switch in 20-30 years?  I downloaded a ton of game on the Wii Virtual Console and Wii Ware titles, but I haven't played that system in close to a decade now.  So if I lose my Switch and all its games in 30 years, I don't think I'll care that much when I haven't even touched the system in decades.

Plus like I've said before, will I even be alive 20-30 years from now?  Not to scare people but with many of us on these forums more then likely being at or around middle age, we'll probably have greater things to worry about 30 years from now then what our video game collections look like.  The convenience that digital games provide right now is better then physical in every way to me and the only convenience that physical provides with being something that might last longer, isn't that big a deal the older I get.
