Discuss in talkback!

Two straight weeks with Wii U downloadable, non-retail releases? A first for Japan!

That's right. You don't need to get your eyes checked. The Wii U has new (kinda) downloadable titles available for the second week in a row! Having not really played my Wii U for the past few months, I'm sure I'm not the only gamer in Japan who welcomed this with open arms. Of course, there are a few more things that hit the eShop as well (including a sale Wii U Virtual Console sale of sorts). Check it all out below:

3DS

Virtual Console
Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shōjo (Zengo-hen) (Famicom) - 500 yen
Field Combat (Famicom) - 500 yen

Video Content

With the Virtual Console launching on the Wii U over the weekend and continuing with another slew of releases, that means some new preview videos on the eShop for each title. All of the titles that were released over the weekend have a gameplay video that last around a minute or so each. Other than that, there are videos for Famicom Tantei Club Part II, Field Combat, Solomon’s Key, Mega Man 3, Kirby Super Star, and a trailer for D3 Publisher’s The Dasshutsu Game (The Escape Game). The Escape Game has players, apparently held hostage against their will, searching for away to escape different rooms and locations. The environments is extremely interactive and allows for players to look for items in drawers, cupboards and more to aid in their escape.

Even with the Wii U Virtual Console in its fledgling state, Nintendo has still opted to have a 20% off sale for Kirby Super Star for the Super Famicom. For Wii U owners who opt to purchase the now 30 yen Kirby’s Adventure (the fourth game in the Famicom 30th year anniversary promotion), you can then purchase Kirby Super Star for 640 yen. For more details on the sale, be sure to check out our news story.
