NWR in Akihabara

by James Charlton and Michael Cole - May 16, 2009, 4:10 am EDT

Reviews Editor Michael "TYP" Cole and Japan Correspondent/Video Editor James Charlton provide a taste of Akihabara, Tokyo in this two-part video special.

Famous for its video games, anime, and figurine stores, as well as more utilitarian stores selling electronic goods, Akihabara is no doubt a highlight for Western video game enthusiasts when visiting Japan.

TYP was in Tokyo on vacation recently, and we thought it might be neat to hook up and give readers a sampling of what Tokyo's electronics district has to offer. This is the fruit of our labors: a two-part video special. The first part focuses on one of our favorite video game stores in Akiba, while the other shows off some of the other things to see and buy—from a video gamer's perspective, of course! We hope you enjoy it!
