The Famicast is back with their first episode of 2017 with an episode focusing entirely on the Nintendo Switch! In the first half of the show, recorded just a few hours after the Switch presentation on January 13, the guys delve into the deluge of news giving their thoughts on almost everything that came out of the event and then some!

For the second half of the show, Danny, James and Ty attend a Switch event at Tokyo Big Sight and get hands on time with a select few Switch titles. With it being a public event, the guys unfortunately couldn't go hands on with the likes of Zelda, Splatoon 2 and a few other big titles (for reasons explained in this part of the show), they had a chance to try out the system in a few different configurations. (*note* Due to being recorded live via YouTube Live via a cellular connection, there are a few audio issues with this part of the show. Please understand!)

This episode ended up being quite late in the month, so the next episode will be coming sooner than you think!
Be sure to send in any Switch / Japan questions to the usual email address or Twitter ASAP  :cool;

Maybe a dumb question but are there audio-only version(s) of this show?

Fatty, all of the content (minus the stuff we do on Periscope/Twitter Live) is baked into the episode!

I'm also hearing about a problem with the MP3 feed. I'm going to check on that as soon as I can!

On the Famicast Twitter page, it showed a screencap at the 4:55 mark of Takashi Tezuka at the Zelda booth, with the gang walking by him unaware (as pointed out by a YouTube viewer). So I watched the video with that in mind. JC turns the camera from the Splatoon 2 demo and at 4:20, Tezuka walks into view in front of JC, passes directly in front of Danny, then you guys walk behind and pass him as shown in the screen cap. Then at 5:29 you see Tezuka talking with a tall man who's making big gestures (perhaps, OMG Takashi Tezuka!).

It would have been better if the tall man had been Ty, then only after the video had been published would he have said, "Oh, hey guys, guess who I met at the Switch Event." "WHAT?!?"

Only just started listening to the episode, so can't comment on it, but wanted to mention the Tezuka sighting on the forums.

Sorry this comment is so late after the podcast again...  :-[

I know from firsthand experience that the Wii U does allow multiple users that can access the eShop. And I think if a digital game is purchased with one account, all the other accounts on the system can play it. Hard to believe, isn't it?

That's how it works on 360, with a small quirk to prevent abuse.

Games are tied to BOTH the account that bought it AND to the first console it was downloaded on. That way you can have any number of accounts on 1 console and all of them will have access to all games.

However if someone from that group tries to say shares their account data to someone else that person on the other console will only have access to games that account has bought directly.
