If the rumors of the NX being less powerful than the PS4 are true, then I will be majorly disappointing. The NX is supposed to be part of the next gen (meaning AFTER PS4 and X1). It would have been like if the GameCube had been less powerful than the PS1. Even being just as powerful as PS4 would be bad, it needs to be more powerful than the PS4 Neo and X1 Scorpio.

I think the portable is gonna be Nintendo 'n Nvidia's "trial run.", to see if Nintendo can make enough systems for it to be worth it for Nvidia. If it goes well, we'll see a beefier console with the same type of chip and some type of connectivity between the two.

It will be slower than the PS4, but in the same ballpark. Meaning it'll be fast enough for the next Madden, Assassin's Creed, etc.

Yes because a $500 Nintendo console would sell so well. ::)  Seriously, the rumors of the systems power make it very clear Nintendo wants something that is going to have mass appeal, something the Neo and Scorpio are not going to have.

The rumors show Nintendo is likely aiming for something they can release between $200-250 at a profit, which makes sense considering the high price messes the 3DS and Wii U caused them.

You're not alone Donald!

If Nintendo can figure out how to get the power of a the common cellphone into a handheld device and then when you dock it into the dock it can use a more powerful chip set as a console then gamers would have to buy 2 hardware devices, portable and console, but only have to buy one game...it is like Nintendo cross buy.  That could work.

I think the handheld is coming first and no mention of the console version.

Here's a link to what I believe is happening.

I have no say in the "Best Pokemon game" discussion since I punched out after Ruby and only got back in with X. So that made Pokemon X an amazing game for me.

Supermetaldave64 makes more sense than eurogamer, also eurogamer reported something similar back in 2009 with the 3ds believing it would use Nvidia and that would be bunked.

Just not going to believe these rumors, they do not add up to what we've heard from Nintendo.

From Eurogamer's latest article today:
"Once again, Nintendo has chosen the road less travelled. Assuming it's based on the Tegra X1 processor, NX will be considerably more powerful than Wii U, but it won't match PlayStation 4 or Xbox One for grunt, even as those machines are set to be superseded by more powerful hardware refreshes. (There's a chance it will get the Tegra X2 instead, about which little is known - but that's pure speculation on our part, and it wouldn't fit Nintendo's usual preference for mature, cheap parts.) "

Still finding this hard to believe, in order for TegraX chip Nvidia had to win a Semiconductor contract, which they have none. So I doubt the console will be nvidia based let alone the handheld.

Yeah, AMD reported their 2nd quarter 2016 earns a week ago and the CEO Lisa Su talked about semi-custom design wins, three actually. The only one she actually mentioned by name was Xbox Scorpio.  I figure one of the remaining two is for PlayStation NEO and the third has to be for Nintendo. She said they'd talk about the third semi custom win when they have "more visibility".  - Nvidia however hasn't reported earnings for Q2 yet.

Berserk contains some of the most fucked up, affecting things I've ever seen or read. But it's absolutely amazing and might be my favourite manga of all time. I don't think I've ever read through such a long series as quickly as I did Berserk. I hope you're reading the Dark Horse translation, Alex.

And that lends credence that it's likely the NX, rather than anything with Nvidia.
