Goodbye 2013! Hello brand spankin' new games of 2014!

A new year has dawned and it's time to look towards the future! 2013 gave us a lot of good, some bad, and a bunch of weird games. But what will 2014 have in store for us?

The NWR staff was asked the question "What game do you hope will make your 2014 complete?" Take a look at their answers!

What games are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!

J.P. "Popping the Champagne" Corban

FIFA 15

Zachary "5...4...3...2...1" Miller

A good, new Metroid game.

Justin "Times Square" Berube

The new Super Smash Bros. games with a good, functional online mode.

Danny "New Year, New Resolution" Bivens

N64 and GBA Virtual Console games. Remember when that was supposed to be a thing?

Alex "Baby New Year" Culafi

Persona Q, Persona 5, Persona: Dancing All Night, EDF 2025, Hotline Miami 2, Yoshi's New Island, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Screw it, I'm putting it all down!

Neal "Year of the Horse" Ronaghan

Something I haven't even heard of yet.

Andy "Aw, 2013 is Already Over?" Goergen

Zelda II: Zero Mission

I'll side with Neal on this one.

UniRacers on Virtual Console.

If not let's add N64, GBA, and GameCube on the VC

I would be on board with that. If it ever does happen though I would like a Super Metroid sequel to make use of high-res hand drawn spites and environments. I'm not a fan of the chintzy look that some Nintendo games have gone with in recent years. I first noticed it with the Miis (but in fact it probably dates back to games like DKC and Super Mario RPG), but the same look can be found in games like Mario Kart, NSMB, ALBW and the upcoming Yoshi's New Island, all of which seem to sport a plastic-like sheen that's super unappealing to me. I guess I just prefer the more muted colour palette of 16-bit Nintendo games like Super Metroid and A link to the Past.

Having said that, I'll take a new Metroid game any way I can get it.

Do you even know what vaporware is? It's safe to call The Last Guardian or Final Fantasy XV vaporware, but not something that was announced last year.

On topic, X, Dark Souls II, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Super Smash Bros. Wii U, and MAYBE Destiny.

Yeah i know, but it would be nice to get some information about this game. I mean, they plan to release it this year and we got nothing but a stunning trailer.

Dark Souls 2 on the wiiU gamepad would be great!

Mario Kart 8 is the reason I bought a Wii U.

I figured I had no choice but to say FIFA, if only for comedic purposes, but new Metroid or Star Fox games would probably outshine my annual addiction.

Well, we've got the World Cup coming up in 2014 so your pick makes sense (in my head). :P For me it would be a new F-Zero or Super Mario Sunshine HD.

*sigh* I'm a dreamer...

If EA repeats history there will be a special version of FIFA for the World Cup, separate from FIFA 15, which will prevent me from only buying one version of FIFA this year as I'd hoped to after buying three in both 2012 and 2013.

SarailJanuary 04, 2014

New StarTropics sequel.

I will except nothing else.

ChiramiiJanuary 05, 2014

If I remember correctly, the last FIFA game i played was FIFA World Cup 2002 for the GameCube, good times!
