Acclaim steps back in the squared circle with Legends of Wrestling II. With new wrestlers, new game modes, an improved Create-a-Legend mode, and more, the game hopes to give wrestling-hungry GameCube owners something to sink their teeth into.
With no WWE title coming out this holiday season, Acclaim is looking to satisfy wrestling fans with Legends of Wrestling II. This follow-up features a hefty list of wrestling greats from the past, in addition to some new and improved features, including new match types (6- and 8- man Elimination, Cage, Battle Royal, Ladder, 3- and 4- way dances), a storyline career mode, the $15,000 Body Slam Challenge with Big John Studd, tag team tournaments, improved Create-a-Legend mode, and interviews with some of the legends themselves.
The list of grapplers is definitely impressive, featuring classic greats like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, George “the Animal” Steele, Scott and Rick Steiner, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Rocky Johnson (next best thing to the Rock) and even Andy Kaufman, who while technically isn’t a wrestling great per se, is a great addition and represents part of the nostalgic feel that Legends of Wrestling II looks to recreate. Hopefully the gameplay has been improved over the mixed bag of last year’s Legends of Wrestling, because with this excellent list of wrestlers, an improved Create-a-Legend mode, improved graphics, bonus videos, and new gameplay modes, Legends of Wrestling II could be a real gem for wrestling fans that really recaptures the sport’s colorful past when it hits the stores this November.
