Improvement from the previous version.
Avalanche was playable at the Cube Clubs last year, and it garnered mixed feelings from gamers. While the Graphics were nice, the control was loose and the hit detection was dodgy. Let me be the first to tell you that the game has improved beyond reproach. The control is far better, and you board through the tracks seamlessly. I am very impressed with the stages available in the demo.
The controls include the obligatory A for jumping, B for grabs, and L to tuck in and speed up. The controls are smooth and very responsive in this version. The tracks are pretty and there are multiple paths to completion in the race section. The stunt section of the game only included a half-pipe, and despite some minor glitches the half-pipe is a joy to trick around too.
The graphics have also improved. The clothes still flap in the wind and are still viewtiful. The snow still sticks to the clothes of the boarders, which is a nice effect. The tracks are quite large and riddled with stunt jumps. One track has this NICE ice tube with a traveling shine effect as you race through it. 1080 has improved greatly, and I can now say that I'm anticipating its release.
