Advance Wars is the fifth installment of a high quality series made by Intelligent Systems. Much like the games before it, Wars for the AGB matches thoughtful strategy with simple controls and addictive gameplay. To say this game is fun is to call a large bag of money pocket change. I've been locked up in my room for the past few hours simply in awe of this brilliant piece of software.

As a genuine RPG/SRPG/Strategy fan I can tell you now that this is quite possibly the best AGB title release yet. The Translation seems spot on. The controls are elegant and get the job done quickly. What is most gratifying (other than the absolutely stellar gameplay) are the graphics and more importantly sound.

The graphics are rich and animate well: the little cut-scenes when your troops attack are very well done. Explosions are big and beautiful. Your C.O.'s (Commanding Officer) portrait is also shown while you attack. Their emotions range from exultant to worried depending on the odds (and results) of that unit winning the fight.

The sound is superb. I have my AGB hooked up to my uber|337 computer speakers and aisha can gradne it is spectacular! The game sports an industrial beat that goes very well with the military theme of the game. There's a variety of instruments and the tunes are just great to listen to: in fact I've got my AGB out here with me as I type! The sound effects are also well done.

There's so much personality to this game it's frightening! Just like the other game that never made it to English speaking regions, Advance Wars is a definite buy.

Don't bother renting: this is a definite purchase! Get it or I'll hunt you down and make you get it.
