New info on EAD Tokyo's upcoming 3DS Mario title from E3.
We've known about the new Mario title coming to Nintendo 3DS from EAD Tokyo, developers of the Super Mario Galaxy games and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, since GDC. New details on the title were revealed at E3 2011, but the game title is still unconfirmed.

The raccoon tail on the game's logo had hinted at the return of that power-up from Super Mario Bros. 3, and the video shown at the press conference confirmed the presence of Mario's Tanooki suit. Unlike in the Super Mario Galaxy games, it doesn't appear that the power-ups in this game are time-limited. The video shows a mix of free-roaming 3D gameplay, as well as side-scrolling segments.

The video also had a variety of new enemies such as several new varieties of Goombas, including ones with tails and stacks of multiple Goombas on top of each other. There is also a new variety of Pirhana Plant that spits ink that obscures the player's view.
The game is confirmed for a late 2011 release.
