After the first weekend of the new £79 price point in the UK, GameCube sales have increased by 400%.

The NINTENDO GAMECUBE has gone down a storm with British gamers on the first weekend of its new price of around £79, as sales of the console have risen by 400% in the first two days alone.

well depending how many they sold before.. I heard they were selling like 200 GC's per week there so yah i guess it should go up 400%.. any numbers on what it sold before the price drop?

It doesn't matter how they sold before, in my eyes, becasue as long as the sales increased, it's a good thing. Even if they sold one a month, they'd now sell (five?) a month, which is still better than before.

That was a great editorial. I really enjoyed reading it. I think it makes several good points that some publications fail to recognize. I also like that Johnny provides links to back up his editorial. So many other journalists only mention but fail to provide supporting information.

This is great news for Nintendo. While they may not make a profit on their console anymore, they still will with the software. I seriously think that Nintendo will have a great holiday season. Several of their big hits in the past year are at Player's choice prices and they have a solid lineup of new games for the holiday season. I for one have several GCN games on reservation for the holiday season.
