The multiplayer demo offers a taste of XIII's innovative multiplayer modes. The multiplayer demo features a standard Deathmatch mode.

The XIII soundtrack is a first-of-its-kind, consisting of original music (available only on this CD) inspired by the game and produced by San Francisco-based label Future Primitive Sound. The soundtrack features a unique blend of funk beats and progressive hip hop produced by Future Primitive's team of visionary artists, including Z-Trip, Romanowski, DJs Faust and Shortee, J-Boogie, Jack Dangers, SWAT, DJ Zeph and Bing Ji Ling. The 13 tracks were all inspired by the game's stylish 70s-influenced look and vibe created by the videogame designers. Soundtrack samples are available online at http://www.whoisXIII.com/community.

"We put together the XIII pre-order program to quench the rabid XIII community who are anxious for the game's launch," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubi Soft Entertainment. "The enhanced CD soundtrack and game demos will give gamers just enough XIII to whet their appetite until the game launches in October. This will be a record-breaking pre-order campaign for Ubi Soft."

Why the hell don't we get a demo disc? I mean the soundtrack is better than nothing but it still sucks that Gamecube owners get the short end of the stick... for the hundredth time. I have a strange feeling that high licensing fees or some other unnecessary restriction by Nintendo may be to blame.

First thought: Great, shafted again. Second thought: Now why the hell wouldn't the PC version have a demo disc? Broadband still isn't as prevalent as everyone predicted it would be.
