This year's UK Pokemon road show took off this weekend at the first venue, Brent Cross.
Saturday 19 July - Hundreds of children joined in the fun at Toys R Us, Brent Cross, when the Pokémon Live 2003 Unleashed by Vimto roadshow came to town. CiTV's Leah Charles opened up the dome with the help of lucky competition winners Cameron and Bradley Simms, from Hayes, Middlesex. Excited Cameron (9) and Bradley (6) had their photo taken with Leah and were the first two kids of the day into the Pokémon dome having won a competition on video games website www.computerandvideogames.com.
Visitors to the massive mobile gaming dome experienced numerous Pokémon worlds, played the two new Pokémon games – Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire for Game Boy Advance - and washed it all down with a refreshing drink of Vimto.
The roadshow is the highlight of a joint initiative between Nintendo and Vimto. Through special promotional packs of Vimto Sparkling, Pokémon fans can win stacks of gaming prizes including two exclusive trips to New York, rounded off with a trolley dash at the world famous Pokémon Center NY.
Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire are the first games in the hugely popular series to appear on the Game Boy Advance. They are packed with new features and over 100 brand new Pokémon to collect. The games are available in the UK on 25th July 2003 priced at around £30-£35 each.
