May 2003 (Newstream) -- THQ® Inc. announced the release of Walt Disney Pictures Presentation of Pixar Animation Studios' Finding Nemo videogame for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, XboxTM videogame system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCubeTM and Game Boy® Advance, as well as two games for the PC/Mac. The game, which closely follows the storyline of the film, 'Finding Nemo' by Academy Award®-winning Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios, is now available in advance of the movie, scheduled to launch in theaters nationwide on May 30. The game features music and environments inspired by the motion picture.

For a limited time, each game package will include a free movie ticket to see 'Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo' as part of the game's extensive marketing campaign. Other elements of the multimillion-dollar program include national television, print, radio and online media campaign, in-theater marketing, and numerous cross-promotions. Finding Nemo will be available this week across multiple game systems at retail outlets nationwide.

"Disney and Pixar have a proven track record of releasing blockbuster animated motion pictures including 'Toy Story,' 'A Bug's Life,' 'Toy Story 2' and 'Monsters Inc.,' which boast videogame related franchise sales that total more than $500 million worldwide," said Peter Dille, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, THQ. "We're delighted to be launching Finding Nemo for every gamer on every major system in advance of the film's opening."

"By creating games for Finding Nemo on all the gaming platforms, the title is shaping up to be one of the must-have kids' videogames of the summer," said Sanjeev Lamba, vice president of marketing and international, Disney Interactive. "We're pleased with our ongoing relationship with THQ for this and other Disney/Pixar titles in the future."

Finding Nemo for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance follows the adventures of Nemo and his marine-life friends. The game is set in a 3-D underwater environment and allows players to play key movie characters including Nemo, Marlin and Dory, each with varied abilities. Gamers will explore several levels including mini games and bonus levels.

Consumers can also look forward to two different Finding Nemo titles for the PC/Mac. The first Finding Nemo game features arcade-style gameplay and follows the same concept of the console games. The second game, Finding Nemo: Nemo's Underwater World of Fun, is filled with mini-games and puzzle challenges involving the film's central characters. Each game is geared to entertain, challenge, and inspire kids to exercise their creative and critical thinking skills. Both games include puzzles designed to cultivate exploration, cooperation and problem solving. Following the movie's message, the games will help teach children courage, perseverance, trust and the value of coming to the aid of one another.
