Don't expect Toad to make an appearance, though.

"Gamecock"? You gotta be kidding me...

ShyGuyMay 31, 2007

It's run by the same guys who started G.O.D. games back in the day. They put out good games, but I'm not fond of their corporate conduct.

Eh? What's so odd about that?

TansunnMay 31, 2007

So they named themselves after fighting roosters, so what?

Feign your innocence Bill, Feign! Those probing slime covered tentacles so popular in the anime are nothing but probing slime covered tentacles, right?

Statement withdrawn. See official website for details.

The serious nature of their website makes me think it's a joke name, designed to draw attention. http://gamecockmedia.com/

Dude, all I've seen is concept art-trailer for this and I'm ALREADY HYPED HYPED HYPED!!!

Calling your company Gamecock and using a rooster logo ain't fooling nobody. What if I called my company Sweetpussy? A pussy is a cat, right? No harm there. "Cock" has been mutated into a crude term and I think anyone intentionally using it outside of poultry related business obviously is trying to have a controversial name.

As a kid for years "Mushroom Man" was my name for Toad because I thought that was his name. A friend of mine exclusively called him that while playing Super Mario Bros 2 and, having no NES of my own, I didn't know better.

Dudes, one of my childhood dreams... was to make an RTS... between Ants, Termites, and Bees.

The entire University of South Carolina disagrees with you.

That hurts. That really hurts you know.

that Baby guyMay 31, 2007

I call bees. Air attacks FTW. One queen could take on an entire army. They sting and put the stingers back.

Not to mention bees have that whole temperature raising trick, in case the ants or termites hire wasps.

ShyGuyMay 31, 2007

Wasps are such mercenaries. They will work for anybody with enough pollen.

mantidorMay 31, 2007

As a non-native speaker, I was shocked to see the words "dick", "cock", and "pussy" as normal words, even used in people's name (like Andy Dick) and tv series (josie and the pussycats), I always thought they were exclusively curse words.

And there was an RTS called ants that was awesome, you managed your colony with queen, soldiers, the whole deal, and you could go inside and outdoors, too bad at the time my PC couldn't handle it and I could barely run the demo, so yes I support that RTS, although with bees it could get complicated, maybe with a 3D interface like homeworld it could work!

that Baby guyMay 31, 2007

I think in most cases, they were normal words first, and slowly integrated themselves as swears or curses over time. The ants, I mean. I have no idea about the words.

Oh yeah, I'm not exactly how I'd balance the Bees versus the ground ants and termites but...

I would also have mercenary wasps and hornets, mercenary spiders and scorpions and beetles, and moths and butterflies that act as flying transports... and even water bugs if I could find a role for them!

that Baby guyMay 31, 2007

Well, most bees would die after one attack, what with loosing their stingers. They are also capable of surrounding their opponent and raising the temperature a few degrees, where they can survive, but kills their opponent. The queens are able to remove and replace their stingers, so they don't die, but other than that, once a bee loses its stinger, it dies. I think nature provided the balance for you on that one.
