All of them are from the publisher's Disney/Pixar and Nickelodeon licenses...and all of them are ports of already-released GameCube games.

I know what I'm not buying!

NeodymiumOctober 16, 2006

Don't even release 'em..

Let's hope that Sponge Bob does as well as THQ hopes it does.

Whatever THQ is hoping for, was probably a big dream, like have "good" and "Shadow" and "Sonic game" in the same sentence.

"strong lineup" and "THQ" should never be said in the same breath...

PopeRealOctober 16, 2006

Thanks for nothing THQ.

Spongebob the Movie game actually wasn't too bad. Besides that though, yeah this lineup sucks the big one.

Smash_BrotherOctober 16, 2006

These are kids games. This will help in ensuring that parents feel comfortable buying it this xmas for their kids.

If all they saw was Red Steel, LoZ and Farcry, they'd assume the Wii is aiming to be a mature console like the others.

Oh touché...

I have to admit, at first I was put off by the children's titles at launch. But then I realized that...
1. The Wii has a solid selection of titles.
2. This provides great variety at launch
3. ALL console and handheld launches are marred with crappy, third party, licensed games.

So yeah, no biggie...

Smash_BrotherOctober 16, 2006

The PS2 won largely because it had the biggest library, even though 90% of it was pure trash.

Many people just ask one thing before they buy a console: which one has the most games?

Biggest library wins, period.

Shin GallonOctober 16, 2006

That seems to be the prevailing truth of consoles: Regardless of the quality of titles, the quantity is what sells systems. How else do you explain the Xbox outselling the Gamecube, when GC clearly had more AAA titles than the Xbox ever dreamed of having?

ThePermOctober 16, 2006

very true, one day people will walk in stores and see a massive Wii lineup and lots of peopel will have wiis..and the numbers will be good..and we'll a ctually have third party support

its great
