Top Nintendo Stars Make Appearance on GoTV

After years of dominating video games worldwide, two Nintendo celebrities

will show up on a new medium. A-list Nintendo star Mario(TM) and his creator,

legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, will make special appearances

on the GoTV mobile television network in a series of four episodes featuring

"New Super Mario Bros.(R)" for Nintendo DS(TM), which launches today.

The episodes will run weekly between May 15 and June 5 on GoTV's Hip Hop

Official, the video game and hip-hop channel; ALTitude, the rock music

channel; and GoTV Superchannel, the eponymous flagship package.

Mario will tell viewers all about his new larger-than-life adventure

saving his beloved Princess Peach from Bowser and Bowser Jr.'s clutches.

Meanwhile, Miyamoto will share behind-the-scenes stories and special features

from a producer's perspective.

"A legend like Mario rarely gives interviews, so this is a treat," said

Elizabeth Brooks, executive vice president of Marketing, GoTV Networks.

"Mario's fans, young and old, will finally hear what this video game icon has

to say in this exclusive interview."

"This is gonna be an in-depth interview," Mario said. "Hopefully we can

get around to talking about my pasta-based energy plan."

Tune into GoTV channels on Sprint/Nextel and GoTV's BoostTV on Boost

Mobile to see the special features. The show schedule is as follows:

Episode 1: Monday, May 15 - Interview with legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto

Talkback

RennyMay 15, 2006

Double-u. Tee. Ef. I'm glad I don't have a cell phone. Alla luddites in da house say yeeeeaaah.

TMWMay 15, 2006

Pasta based energy plan, eh?

You'd figure a guy who can spontaneously create fire might have a slightly more efficient means of creating cheap energy.

KDR_11kMay 16, 2006

Sure. But it's not nearly as tasty so who cares about it?

Renny: I have a cellphone with a screen that's worse than the Gameboy (which at least had two shades of semi-pea-green, this thing can only do pea and black). Does that count?
