NINTENDO NEWS: NINTENDO PREPARES FOR POST-HOLIDAY CONSUMPTION OF GAMES

[Nov. 11, 2004]

After recovering from your turkey-dinner coma and dry-cleaning the nog stains off your pants that no longer fit, you'll need a way to spend all those gift cards that your relatives gave you. The holidays are still weeks away, but Nintendo already has its eyes on 2005.

Nintendo's game lineup for 2005 comes stuffed with innovative new games that take advantage of the touch-screen and wireless capabilities of the new Nintendo DS™. Likewise, owners of Nintendo GameCube™ and Game Boy® Advance SP will find new ways to enjoy new and favorite franchises. New tricks like using bongos to control characters in Donkey Kong® Jungle Beat for Nintendo GameCube and an internal gyro sensor in WarioWare™ Twisted! for Game Boy Advance SP enhance the game experience as only Nintendo can.

Here's a glimpse of what you'll be playing on Nintendo systems in the first part of 2005, along with dozens of unannounced titles that are currently in development.

    BEST...FIRST QUARTER...EVER

2 games to get in January
2 games to get in February
3 games to get in March

Not to mention games later on...

So much for money next year...

(edit: Zelda for Q2? Doubt it, but it would be a nice summer title)

    D-Mac DoubleNovember 11, 2004

No release date, or even a timeframe for Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Advance Wars DS.
    What's up with that?!

    Hostile CreationNovember 11, 2004

Well, I've got one or two Gameboy games to get, two Gamecube games (not including Zelda and maybe Geist), and several DS games to get when my birthday rolls around.
This is looking good, and not excessively costly. Awesome.

    VideoGamerJNovember 11, 2004

NANI?! I thought all three of those games were before or shortly after the new year? I even heard that Mario Kart was launching with Japanese DS and European DS.

(It is nice to finally see a solid name and release date for Star Fox though, which I have been expecting since F-Zero GX came out)

    Bill AurionNovember 11, 2004

I think it's obvious to see why those titles AREN'T coming out during this time period... =P

    MarioNovember 11, 2004

Winnie the Pooh! Awesome! Who wants to bet that it outsells Virtua Fighter Quest?

Klonoa 2 on GBA? Cool, i'll have to look into that.

The DS lineup is pretty sad, needs more games. face-icon-small-smile.gif

Maybe I'm stupid and don't know this, but I see Metroid Prime: Hunters showing up as Q2?

Is there a full fleshed out version in development? If there is...well, like I said, I'm stupid.

    FamicomNovember 11, 2004

Q2 for GC Zelda? Much sooner than I was anticipating...

    PolyethyleneNovember 11, 2004

So, no GC wars anytime soon uh?

Yes.. the version that's launching with DS is just the demo. face-icon-small-smile.gif

Also, this needs to be highlighted

"Here's a glimpse of what you'll be playing on Nintendo systems in the first part of 2005, along with dozens of unannounced titles that are currently in development."

Anyway its great to know that Wario Ware GBA and Donkey Konga 2 will make it out of Japan face-icon-small-happy.gif

did that just say Zelda for Q2 like around June or something?
because it said AND... or is it just saying it's just in development?

    StrellNovember 11, 2004

I asked because I thought it was a demo of the system itself instead of the game. Kind of a way to advertise the multiplayer aspects, how an FPS works, graphics, etc.

    Meh.

advanced wars will most likely be next year along with a slew of other uncomfirmed titles

    Infernal MonkeyNovember 12, 2004

A Pac-Man Pinball game on GBA? SOUNDS EROTIC.

    ATimsonNovember 12, 2004

I'm stoked about the confirmation of the FE games coming here. Which FE is the GBA "FE2" going to be, though, FE6 (the first GBA one we didn't get, that could act as a sequel to the one we got), or the new one that's unrelated?
