So we've got this podcast, Connectivity, and we sure do hope you'll listen to it. In order to entice you, let me explain this week's show just a little bit.

First off, we've got a brand new segment for you. It's called "That Nintendo Year" and in it we chronicle an entire year's worth of Nintendo published games. We're starting off by going system launch years, and first up is 2006: The Year of the Wii. What was the rest of the year like? Listen and find out.

Secondly, there sure is a lot of news going on right now, isn't there? We thought it'd be nice to go back to the show's roots and talk about all the crazy stuff that's been going on lately, and we answer some listener mail as well!

So that's Connectivity, pretty good eh? Why not review it on iTunes if you have the time? Also, you can send us more listener mail by clicking here.

This week's episode edited by Mike Sklens.

I subscribe through iTunes and this episode is numbered #47 with last week's title. I checked the recording and it's the new episode, just titled differently. Can't wait to hear!

Hmm looks OK now. Are you still having that issue?

Kytim89August 26, 2012

I do not want to sound conceited, but I sent an email to you guys a few weeks ago and I have been really looking forward to hearing you guys discuss it on the podcast. I asked some really good questions and wanted to hear your opinion on them.

Huh, we must have overlooked them. But you know we'd never ignore some questions from Kentucky Tim! I'll see if we can work it into this week's show.

It’s coincidental, mentioning The Dark Knight Rises is as good as New Super Mario Bros. 2, since both of them have a 78 on Metacritic.

Sorry about the episode number error on the RSS feed. I noticed it pretty quick and replaced it, but some of you might have snagged the episode early enough to get the wrong title (the file you got, however, was for Episode 48 as intended).

Thanks guys for answering my question. I can't to have the Wii U in my hands at launch!!!

Hey JP's story about selling his N64 to his sibling. I did the exact same thing with my sister, although it was to raise funds for the Cube. Also after enough years everyone forgot that I did that, so the N64 reverted back to me heh..heh.

I did however end up buying her a Wii and a few games for Xmas in like 2009 though, so I technically paid her back.

The details about the Nintendo launch year and the time leading up to the launch were very interesting to me.  I'd like to hear more.

2001 next, right?

Loving the love for That Nintendo Year. Yes, 2001 would be next. Might not be recorded for another few weeks, though.

Greatly enjoyed this Nintendo Year, I look forward to more.

One thing I found interesting was the part about getting your first console on launch day, despite owning every Nintendo console and most of the hand helds, I have never gotten one at launch. The NES, SNES and N64 were all Christmas presents from my parents right after launch. I think the GCN was out close to a year before I got it, my wife gave it to me as my wedding present. The Wii was a gift to both of us from my parents, we received it the first week of January after launch. I was given the NES GBA and Zelda DS Lite as presents, and I bought the 3DS myself with some cash I was given for my birthday when the price drop happened. Never really thought about it until now. I would like to make the Wii U my first, but I am not sure if I will have the money/ if it will be worth it to get it at launch.
