There can be only one......in the UK.

THE SEARCH IS ON FOR THE “POKéMON COLOSSEUM BATTLEMASTER 2004”

There can be only one “Pokémon Colosseum Battlemaster 2004” and the search is on to find the individual worthy of this title. To celebrate the launch of the eagerly anticipated Pokémon Colosseum on 14 May 2004, hundreds of hopefuls can enter a competition to be crowned “Pokémon Colosseum Battlemaster 2004”. The winner will be Pokémon royalty!

The excitement

kicks off at forty Toys “R” Us stores on Saturday 24 April, moving to

five UCI cinemas before the Grand Daddy of all grand finals at the UK’s

biggest cinema screen, bfi London IMAX.

Round One will be hosted at

forty Toys “R” Us stores across the UK from 10am –5pm. Fans at

these events will find themselves in the honoured position of being the first

to play Pokémon Colosseum in the UK, a whole three weeks before launch!

Plus, taking part in the competition couldn’t be easier, all people need

to do is answer some questions and enter a free prize draw to win the chance of

getting through to Round Two hosted at five UCI cinemas.

On Saturday 1

May 2004 Round Two will be held at UCI’s in Manchester, Greenwich,

Solihull, Gateshead and Maidenhead. Winning entrants will be invited down to

the cinema nearest to them to play the game that’s been making their

fingers twitch on the silver screen. Not only is this the first 3D

Pokémon game for the Nintendo GameCube which features an amazing Battle

Mode and a Pokémon adventure Story Mode, it’s the first time a

Pokémon game can be played on the big silver screen! But don’t

worry if you are not part of the tournament as you can still come along to the

cinemas between 12noon and 4pm to play the brand new game.

By this stage

it will be time to enter the Colosseum. Competitors will be asked to either

bring their own Pokémon Ruby or Pokémon Sapphire cartridges to

use in the battling or use those supplied. If they bring their own, each

entrant will need to follow some rules, for example each Pokémon must be

trained to a level no higher than 75 (check out

www.battlemaster2004.com for the

full set of rules). The competition will rage on until just sixteen players

remain.

When Saturday 8 May 2004 is upon us, our sixteen finalists will

battle it out on the ultimate screen, the colossal bfi London IMAX. Our

competitors will need to keep their strength up though, so will be sustained

with super-sized food and drink and the chance to have photographs taken with

real life Pokémon. In the Grand Final these chosen few will be able to

bring along their own cartridges but this time there will be no restriction on

the level of Pokémon they can use. By the end of the day the battle will

have been played, our competitors spent, and some fabulous prizes won. But one

will have reigned victorious, the only question is….who will it

be?
