Comedian Kathy Griffin Announces Winning Knock-Knock Joke
Nov. 18, 2003, Mario and Luigi knocked, and the budding comedians of America answered. After sorting through more than 1,300 entries in their month-long knock-knock joke contest, Mario and Luigi have selected the funniest of the funny as finalists. The brothers chose to host a knock-knock contest, because of the hilarious back-and-forth comedy found in their new game, Mario & Luigi™: Superstar Saga, which launched on Nov. 17. Comedian Kathy Griffin (Mario and Luigi's celebrity judge), has chosen a grand prize winner, who will receive an amazing prize package - and that's no laughing matter!
Winning Knock-knock Joke:
Knock, Knock.
Who's There?
Pencil
Pencil who?
Your pencil fall down if you don't wear a belt.
"I feel inspired by this joke, not only to wear pants with an elastic waist, but to really listen to others about my personal style. Also, I like the notion that 'pencil' is a character in the joke, almost like a person with a funny name. When I think of naming my first child 'Pencil,' I'm laughing already. That's the idea … get it? Congratulations!"

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is Rated E for Everyone, and is available for an MSRP of $34.99. All finalist were awarded a copy of the new game and Game Boy® Advance SP.
