Discuss it in Talkback!

According to Xengamers, Sega representatives have announced plans to close three Phantasy Star Online servers for the Dreamcast in order to make final preparations for the GameCube version of the RPG. Specifically, Sega plans to shut down the 'Carme,' 'Anake,' and 'Leda' servers on May 25. These servers will be overhauled for the trial version of Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II for the GameCube, which Sega will release a trial version of this spring in Japan. The trial will feature multiple online campaigns and a four-player offline mode. The trial version will primarily test the only functions and won't include a single player offline mode.

There are rumors that Sega will release the game in North America this October. Allegedly, this will be announced along with Nintendo’s online plans at E3.
