GameCube is coming to Europe

For the first time in Milia history, Nintendo will exibiting. Not only that, but there will also be a press conference concerning launch details.

Milia is a European event for interactive entertainment held annually in Cannes, France. The date this time is February 4-8.

Nintendo are exhibiting new products, including GameCube, in a dedicated 250m² area. First and second party titles on show will be Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin and Super Smash Bros. Melee while the third party Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader, FIFA 2002 and Sonic Adventure 2 will also make it onto display.

There will also be an exclusive press conference where NOE Managing Director David Gosen and Nintendo France MD Stephen Bole will reveal European launch plans. This will happen at the Palais des Festivals, on 5th February. This is, the press release cites, just a few weeks before the official European consumer launch.

Mr Gosen said earlier regarding the system, "GameCube has been a phenomenal success in Japan. In North America, sales have been so fast that we have had to upscale our stocks from 1.1 to 1.5 million items to meet high demand driven by the festive season."
