Nintendo and Namco in bed?

Rumors have been flying around about Nintendo getting back into the arcade business. More fresh squeezed goodness inside...

Could we start seeing more Namco arcade ports? Looks like this may be a possibility. According to GameSpot Nintendo is working with Namco on Arcade hardware utilizing GameCube technology. Here's the juice....

GameSpot has learned that Nintendo is currently collaborating with Namco to create an arcade board based on the GameCube hardware. Furthermore, Namco sources indicate that the video clip of Soul Calibur 2 that was shown at Nintendo's Space World 2001 event was actually running on this new GameCube-based arcade hardware. Namco and Nintendo have not provided any official confirmation on the subject to date.

The Nintendo GameCube architecture houses an IBM CPU and an ATI GPU called "Flipper." GameSpot will have more as further information becomes available.
