Spy Hunter is coming to GameCube & will indeed come with the Peter Gunn theme! The band Saliva will be doing the honors & we have all the details.

Now that Spy Hunter is now officially coming to GameCube, PGC can happily begin telling you about the game anytime something happens with it! Although the Peter Gunn theme wasn’t heard in the game at E3, Midway does indeed intend to include the classic tune in the game!

CDNow reports that the rap-rock group Saliva will be recording the tune. The band recently spent time in a Los Angeles studio recording a version of Henry Mancini's theme from Peter Gunn for an update of the classic arcade combat racing game Spy Hunter. Since Spy Hunter was awesome without the music, the news that the Peter Gunn theme would make the game… well, perfect!

"I grew up on Midway games," says frontman Josey Scott. "They were the first games I ever played as a teenager, so it's a real honor for us to do this. It's really an opportunity for us to shine, for us to put a Saliva twist on the Peter Gunn theme, to drop a fat beat into it, and put some heavy guitars in it."

Saliva has recorded two versions of the song: a revamped cover of the instrumental version and a second version with lyrics penned by Scott. Though it has not been decided exactly how the tracks will be used in the game, or whether the tune will appear on any future Saliva albums, Midway has announced that the game will feature a video of the band recording the song.
