You probably knew that Spyro the Dragon & Crash Bandicoot were coming to Nintendo systems. Now here’s more good (yet still insanely unbelievable) news!

Last year, in a surprising announcement, a Spyro the Dragon game would be produced for GBA. Shortly thereafter came an even bigger shocker: it was confirmed that Crash Bandicoot would come to other systems, including GameCube. These events weren’t good news to Sony, who lost two of its biggest mascots, both which were relatively new characters compared to Mario & Sonic. This is old news but GameSpot has some new information too...

GameSpot has confirmed that Universal Interactive is also working on a next-generation Spyro the Dragon game for GameCube. Unfortunately, very little information has been released but it is known that the game will be in the platform genre like the other games.

It also revealed that the Crash game will be called Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and features Crash & his sister Cocoa fighting the evil duo Cortex and Uka Uka. Traveller’s Tales, who plan to make the game faithful to the series, will develop the latest Crash outing. Many of Crash’s old moves & many new attacks too. Staying true to form, Crash will have many new vehicles to utilize, including a jeep a mech(!) and others.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex will be released in November and appear on PS2, X-Box, GameCube and the Game Boy Advance. This means we might have Mario (er, Luigi?) and Crash Bandicoot games around GameCube launch. Whoa.
