A certain rumor that by now you should all be familiar with (scroll down) sent a jolt through the Gamecube community with word that the console may only launch with a purple unit available. Our friends at Nintendo spoke to Billy and said this was not true and now with this news from Gamespot it could be time to breath a sigh of relief. According to the site a Nintendo spokesperson went on record to state that the Gamecube will definitley launch with multiple colors available, with exact colors yet to be determined. Also the interesting bit is that the spokesperson said that colors may vary according to international region. This may lead to different color cubes for Japan, America, Europe and even Australia (green and gold!).
